This is to notify the general public and all aspiring students of the University of Nigeria (UNN) that the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics admission requirements has been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Nutrition and Dietetics include the following:
- Five SSCE credit passes in Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics, Physics,, and English Language.
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
UNN, in addition to the UTME requirements, ‘O’ level credit passes in Chemistry, Biology Food, and Nutrition Agricultural Science and Physics or Mathematics.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB.
- English Language.
- Chemistry
- Biology/Agriculture
- Mathematics/Physics
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Nutrition and Dietetics if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- Two ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry, Biology and Agric Science, or Physics
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
UNN accepts the following:
- ‘A’ level passes in two (2) of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology (Botany and/or Zoology), Agricultural Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
- ND, NCE, HND in Nutrition and Dietetics/Home Economics/Agricultural Science, Food Science plus the UTME requirements into 200 or 300 levels.
- Certificate in Nursing /NCE in relevant subjects. Candidate must also satisfy the UTME entry requirements.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNN for the 2022/2023 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have a score of a minimum of 160 or above in your JAMB result.
