UNN Department of Home Science Admission Requirement 2022/2023

This is to notify the general public and all aspiring students of the University of Nigeria (UNN) that the Department of Home Science admission requirements have been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.

Entry Requirements

O’Level Subject Combination

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Home Science include the following:

Five SSCE credit passes to include the following subjects:

  • Chemistry
  • Biology/Agric Science
  • Mathematics and at least a pass in English Language and Physics

Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

UNN In addition to the UTME requirements, requires ‘O’ level credit passes in Chemistry, Biology, Food, and Nutrition, or Agricultural Science.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination

Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB.

  • English Language
  • Chemistry
  • Biology or Agricultural Science
  • Mathematics or Physics

Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

  • UNN requires Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, and one (1) of Physics/Mathematics, Economics, or Geography

Direct Entry Requirement

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Home Science if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;

  • Two ‘A’ level passes or equivalents in Chemistry and Biology/Botany/Agric Science/ Economics/ Physics /Mathematics/Geography/Accounting.

Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

UNN accepts:

  • Two ‘A’ level passes (London/Cambridge/ Cameroon) (in Chemistry and any of Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agricultural Science. Economics, Physics Geography/Geology, Mathematics (Pure & Applied) in addition to UTME entry requirements

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNN for the 2022/2023 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have a score of a minimum of 160 or above in your JAMB result.
