UNN Department of Home Economics & Education Admission Requirement 2022/2023

This is to notify the general public and all aspiring students of the University of Nigeria (UNN) that the Department of Home Economics & Education admission requirements have been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.

Entry Requirements

O’Level Subject Combination

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Home Economics & Education include the following:

Five (5) ‘O’ Level NTC/NBC credit passes or TC II merit including English Language, Mathematics, Home Economics, Biology, and Chemistry.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination

Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB.

  • English Language
  • Chemistry
  • Biology or Agricultural Science and one other subject

Direct Entry Requirement

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Home Economics and Education if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;

  • NCE merit in Home Economics
  • ‘A’ Level passes in two (2) of Chemistry or any Biology, Botany, and Agricultural Science.
  • ND/HND credit in Home Economics or Food Science Hotel and Catering Management or any other related program

Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

  • UNN requires for a three (3)-Year Degree program, it requires any of the following in addition to the UTME requirements.
  • NCE merit in Home Economics, ND lower credit in Fashion and Clothing Management Education or Home Economics or Home and Rural Economics or Hotel and Catering.
  • Candidates with a University Degree in any discipline in addition to the departmental UTME requirements may be considered for direct entry admission for a three (3)-year program.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNN for the 2022/2023 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have a score of a minimum of 160 or above in your JAMB result.
