The University of Nigeria, commonly referred to as UNN, is a federal university located in Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria. Founded by Nnamdi Azikiwe in 1955 and formally opened on 7 October 1960, the University of Nigeria has four campuses – Nsukka, Enugu, and Ituku-Ozalla – all located in Enugu State and Aba campus in Abia State
The University of Nigeria was the first full-fledged indigenous and first autonomous university in Nigeria modelled upon the American educational system. It is the first land-grant university in Africa and one of the five most reputed universities in Nigeria. The university has 15 Faculties and 102 academic departments. The University offers 82 undergraduate programs and 211 postgraduate programmes.

O’LEVEL SUBJECT COMBINATION
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education and Chemistry;
You require;
Five (5) SSC credits in Mathematics, Chemistry, English Language and two (2) of Physics, Biology and Agricultural Science.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) AAUA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics and any two (2) of Physics, Biology and Agricultural Science.
(ii) ABU accepts: (a) Two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE/IJMB with ‘C‘ grade in Chemistry and any other Science subject.
(iii) BUK requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in Chemistry, Mathematics, English language and two (2) other Science subjects.
(iv) OOU, MAUTECH, ABU and LASU accept TC II at merit level.
(v) CRUTECH, ABU, UDU and IAU accept a pass in English Language.
(vi) FUTMINNA requires ‘O’ Level credit in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science or Geography and other Science subjects.
(vii) RSUST accepts ‘O’ Level pass in English Language.
(viii) IBBU and IMSU do not accept Agricultural Science.
(ix) LASU and IAU require ‘O’ Level credit pass in Biology.
(x) TASUED requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at one (1)sitting or six (6) ‘O’ Level credit passes at two (2) sittings including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, and any other two (2) or three (3) subjects from Biology, Geography, Physics, Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics and Economics.
(xi) UNIOSUN accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes or its equivalents in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry to form the core subjects, with ‘O’ Level credit in one (1) other relevant Science subject at not more than two (2) sittings.
(xii) OAU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics, Chemistry, English Language and two (2) of Physics, Biology and Agricultural Science.
(xiii) UNN requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics and two (2) other Science subjects.
(xiv) UNILAG requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and any two (2) of Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Integrated Science and Fisheries/Animal Husbandry.
(xv) TASUED requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at one (1) sitting or six (6) ‘O’ Level credit passes at two (2) sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and others from Physics, Biology, Agricultural Science, and Geography.
(xvi) FUDMA requires five(5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
(xvii) LCU accepts ‘O’ Level credit passes at SSC or its equivalent in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other subject.
(xviii) DELSU requires SSC ‘O’ Level with credit passes in at least (5) subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Chemistry.
(xix) EBSU requires five (5) SSC credit passes to include Mathematics, English Language and three (3) other science subjects
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Education and Chemistry under the Faculty of Education in the above Universities include;
Chemistry and two (2) other subjects chosen from Physics, Biology and Mathematics.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) FCETASABA and UNIBEN requires Chemistry, Mathematics and either Physics or Biology.
(ii) UNIOSUN requires Chemistry, Mathematics plus one (1) other Science subject.
(iii) UNILAG requires Chemistry, and two (2) other subjects from Physics, Biology and Agricultural Science.
(iv) IAUE requires two (2) other science subjects to include Mathematics and any of Physics, Geography or Biology.
(v) UNN requires Chemistry and any two (2) from Biology, Physics, Health Science and Agricultural Science.
(vi) FUAM requires Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
(vii) UI accepts Chemistry, Physics and Biology or Mathematics.
(viii) FUDMA requires Chemistry and two (2) of Physics, Biology and Mathematics.
(ix) Subjects taken must include Chemistry.
(x) UNIMAID requires Physics and any two (2) Science Subjects
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Education and Chemistry, if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
Two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes including Chemistry and one (1) other Science subject
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) OAU, UNILORIN, UDUSOK, EKSU, UNICAL, and UNIJOS require ‘A’ Level passes in either Physics or Mathematics. EKSU- Mathematics only. UNICAL accepts NCE credit or merit in Chemistry and one (1) other subject.
(ii) EKSU, FUTMINNA, MAUTECH, UNIBEN, OAU and UNN, accept NCE in Science subjects.
(iii) RSUST, FUTMINNA and MAUTECH accept NCE merit and ND/HND lower credit.
(iv) UNILAG accepts: (a) Very good passes in the following JUPEB subjects: Chemistry, Physics, and Biology and ‘O’ Level requirements for Direct Entry. (b) NCE credit/merit in Chemistry and any other Science subject.
(v) EKSU and UNIJOS accept ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics and English language. (a) NCE merit (b) Pass in General English at NCE as equivalent to ‘O’ Level credit pass in English. (c) UNIJOS does not accept NCE Integrated Science.
(vi) IMSU accepts NCE merit in Education and the two (2) subjects to be combined with education into 300 level and below merit into 200 level. IMSU requires ‘O’ Level pass in English Language.
(vii) FCEZARIA accepts candidates for D/E only.
(viii) ADSU same as in Biology Education.
(ix) FCEZARIA requires three (3) ‘A’ Level passes in NCE including Chemistry.
(x) FCEZARIA requires NCE in Chemistry and one (1) other Science subject with ‘C’ grade including Education.
(xi) UMYU accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) of Physics, Mathematics or Biology. A credit in NCE is also acceptable
(xii) MAUTECH accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE passes/NCE merit including Chemistry and one (1) of Physics, Mathematics, and Biology. ND/HND with upper credit in the following areas: a) Applied Chemistry b) Science Laboratory Technology with Chemistry option c) Chemistry.
(xiii) TASUED accepts ND/HND upper credit in Chemistry and Science Laboratory Technology with option in Chemistry.
(xiv) UNIOSUN accepts NCE and approved equivalents with a lower credit pass.
(xv) IAUE accepts ‘O’ Level credit pass in any one (1) of Physics, Mathematics or Biology in that order.
(xvi) UNN accepts: (a) ND in other programme at distinction, credit or merit level. Candidates who possess the University requirements plus credit in the teaching subject may be considered for direct entry admission but will run the four (4)-Year programme. (b) NCE credit/merit passes in addition to TCII merit or ‘O’ Level credit passes in relevant subjects.
(xvii) FUAM accepts: (a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in physics (b) Holders of the UTME requirements plus ‘A’ Level passes in the relevant science subjects. (c) ND holders with upper credits in relevant programme who possess the UTME requirements. (d) NCE holders with two (2) credit passes in relevant subjects who possess the UTME requirements may be admitted into 200 level.
(xviii) SSU also accepts: a. NCE passes in Chemistry and any other Science subject; Physics, Biology, Mathematics or Computer Science or a double major subject with ‘O’ Level requirements. b. IJMB passes in Chemistry and one (1) Science subject Physics, Biology, Mathematics or Computer Science with the ‘O’ Level requirements. c. ND/HND with ‘O’ Level pass in Chemistry or any relevant subject into 100 level.
(xix) AAUA accepts NCE merit including Chemistry Education, and one (1) other relevant teaching subject.
(xx) FUDMA accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) of Physics, Mathematics or Biology.
(xxi) DELSU requires at least merit passes and above in Chemistry and Education or any other subject at NCE or above GCE ‘A’ Level passes which must include Chemistry.
(xxii) EBSU accepts: a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer, Mathematics or Integrated Science. b) HND and NCE/OND with minimum of Merit and Upper credit respectively.
All candidates interested in getting admitted into NDA for the 2019/2020 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have score a minimum of 200 or above in your JAMB result.
