The University of Twente Scholarships (UTS) are fully-funded scholarships for excellent students applying for a Master’s or graduate program (MSc) at the Host Institution, the University of Twente in the Netherlands.
Students are accepted regardless of whether they are from EU/EEA or non-EU/EEA countries.

Eligibility for the University of Twente Scholarships
To be eligible for a University of Twente Scholarship, all of the following requirements below must be true for candidates:
- No matter your income, you must obtain an admissions letter first. The process for applying for a UT scholarship differs from the one for enrolling in classes at the University of Twente.
- As of the 2022/2023 academic year, you have been admitted to one of the qualifying UT Master’s programs.
- A student ID number is required.
- You have not completed a graduate program at UT;
- You (if applicable) meet the prerequisites for obtaining an entry visa for the Netherlands;
- You meet the academic IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT of 90) and an extra 6.0 (TOEFL iBT of 20) on the speaking skills subscore requirements for the general English language test.
- A scholarship for top students is the University Twente Scholarship. This typically means you must be in the top 5 to 10% of your class.
Note: After completing your application, it may take up to 8 weeks to receive the results.
Application Instructions
You must first apply to a Master’s program. After submitting an application for a Master’s course and receiving a letter of (conditional) acceptance, you can use your student ID to apply for the scholarship.
Round 1 applications, which become available on October 15, 2022, have a deadline of 1 February, while Round 2 applications, which become available on February 1, 2023, have a deadline of 1 May.
Note: This grant is intended to cover expenses associated with your studies. The scholarship recipient is free to choose how to use the funds. There will be no expenses (like tuition) paid on your behalf.
