African students admitted in the Fall 2023 term (September start date) or later with an admission average of 80% or better studying in English are eligible for the University of Ottawa Scholarships for African Students.

These awardees should also have enrolled in one of the specified undergraduate programs in the faculties of Engineering, Science, or Social Sciences.

The diversity of its foreign student body is something the University of Ottawa is proud of.

Depending on the program each year, these substantial financial contributions to their education cut their tuition costs by $17,500 to $25,000 for excellence scholarships and by $12,000 to $20,000 for admission scholarships.

Upon enrollment, this grant will be immediately awarded to all qualifying students. It will be directly deducted from their tuition costs.

The Excellence Scholarship for African Students Studying in English cannot be used in conjunction with the Entrance Scholarship.

Several pilot programs in three faculties will be accessible to African students studying in English through the new scholarship at a significantly reduced tuition rate.

  • After the application, the University receives the application. It generates a Student Number which the prospective student uses to log in to UOZone, the school’s portal, and submit their exam results and supporting documentation.
  • After a successful review, candidates will be offered a conditional admission offer, including a scholarship depending on their average.
