About the University of Dundee

The University of Dundee received its royal charter on August 1st, 1967, and began operations. In Dundee, Scotland, there is a public research institution called the Institution of Dundee.

It is a red-brick institution established in 1881 as a university college thanks to a gift from the illustrious Baxter family of textile merchants.

The University of Dundee is offering African applicants scholarships worth £5,000 per year of study, up to a maximum value of £25,000.

Requirements for University of Dundee Vice Chancellor’s Africa Scholarship Qualification

You must satisfy each requirement listed below to be eligible for an award:

  • Have a study offer:
  • A full-time undergraduate course that does not include any courses from the schools of medicine or dentistry OR
  • A year-long, full-time postgraduate teaching programme with 180 credits. You can be qualified for the award in both years if you are enrolled full-time in a 2-year postgraduate taught degree.
  • Be a citizen of an African nation (for a complete list of eligible nations, please refer to the Key Facts paper).
  • Have been granted international fee status by the University of Dundee.

When appropriate, the following scholarships may be added to this one:
