UNIPORT Department of Education & Accountancy Admission Requirement

This article is designed to help students who wish to study Education and Accountancy Faculty of Education in University of Port-Harcourt (UNIPORT) as it is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in University of Port-Harcourt to  carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.

The University of Port Harcourt is a university in the Nigerian city of Port Harcourt. It was established in 1975 as University College, Port Harcourt and was given University status in 1977. The University of Port Harcourt was ranked the sixth in Africa and the first in Nigeria by Times Higher Education.

The University of Port Harcourt is a federal government owned university in Nigeria Located in rivers state, The university has a large student and staff population and we believe the student body is diverse. The university has students from different religions cultures and age brackets. The university is very cheap and offers tuition that can be affordable to every Nigeria. University of port Harcourt has offers various degree programs at various level in science, social sciences, engineering etc. The university has a library, hostels, roads, and other good infrastructure like college buildings etc.

To study Education and Accountancy candidates must meet the following requirements.

O’LEVEL SUBJECT COMBINATION 

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education and Accountancy;

You require;

(i) Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) other relevant subjects.

 

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i)  BIU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) subjects.

(ii)  TASUED requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at one (1) sitting or six (6) ‘O’ Level credit passes at two (2) sittings to include, English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) relevant subjects.

(iii)    AAUA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Accounts, Commerce or Book keeping.

JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION

In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Education and Accountancy under the Faculty of Education in the above Universities include;

Mathematics, Economics plus any Social Science subject.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) IAU and TASUED require Mathematics, Economics plus any Social Sciences subjects

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Education and Accountancy, if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require;

Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Business Method and one (1) Social Science subject.

 

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i)  EKSU and ABSU require ‘A’ Level or NCE merit in Accountancy plus a credit in Economics.

(ii) EKSU accepts ND upper credit in Cooperative Studies. A pass at NCE general English Language is accepted in lieu of SSC/GCE or NBC credit.

(iii) BIU same as in Accountancy .

(iv)  TASUED accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes/NCE merit in Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Government and Geography. Also accepts ND upper credits in Accounting or Final part of Accounting Technician of ICAN.

(v)  LASU requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes/NCE merit in Business Method, Commerce, Economics and Principle of Accounting. Does not accept ND and HND.

(vi)    AAUA accepts:

(a) NCE merit in Business Method, Commerce, Economics and Principle of Accounting.

(b) ND at merit level in Accounting, Statistics, Banking and Finance, Business Management.

(c) Two (2)’A’ Level passes in relevant subjects.

(iv)  IAU requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Statistics, Economics or Accounts. Accepts NCE or ND credit.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT)  for the 2019/2020 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 180 or above in your JAMB result.
