This is to notify the general public and all aspiring students of the University of Maiduguri, (UNIMAID) that the Department of Economics admission requirements has been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Economics include the following:
Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two of Arts or Social Science subjects.
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remark
UNIMAID accepts a pass in Mathematics, but such candidates will be required to pass a remedial course in Mathematics
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB.
- English Language
- Economics
- Mathematics and any of Government, History, Geography, Lit-in-English, French and CRK/IRK.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Economics, if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- Two ‘A’ level passes in Economics and any one of Mathematics, Statistics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agric Science, Accounting, Business Management, History and Government.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNIMAID for the 2022/2023 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have a score of a minimum of 160 or above in your JAMB result.
