The management of the University of Jos has announced the resumption of academic activities after a temporary suspension due to the 2023 General Elections.
The new resumption date is set for Wednesday, 22nd March 2023, and university community members are advised to comply accordingly.
The university had planned to resume on 20th March 2023, but there was a slight delay in Plateau state because of the announcement of the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections.

The Senate of the University of Jos approved at first the suspension of academic activities from Monday, 20th February to Sunday, 19th March 2023, due to the 2023General Elections.
However, the second-semester lectures for the [aca-year] academic session were scheduled to begin on 20th March 2023.
However, the announcement of the gubernatorial and House of Assembly election results in Plateau State has yet to conclude, prompting a slight change in the resumption date.
Consequently, the university has informed its community that normal academic activities will resume on Wednesday, 22nd March 2023
