UNIJOS Department of Literature in English Admission Requirement 2022/2023

This article is designed to help students who wish to study  Literature in English under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at the University of Jos.

It is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in UNIJOS  to carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.

What became the University of Jos was established in November 1971 from the elite campus of the University of Ibadan.

The first students were admitted in January 1972 as pre-degree students, and the first Bachelor of Arts degree program began in October 1973.

In October 1975, the military government under General Murtala Mohammed established the Unijos as a separate institution.

O’Level Subject Combination

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Literature in English;

You require; Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include Literature in English and English Language.

Jamb Subject Combination

In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Literature in English under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities in the above Universities include;

Literature in English, one (1) other Arts subject, and another Arts or Social Science subject.

Direct Entry Requirement

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Literature in English if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require

Two (2) ‘A’ level passes to include Literature in English and one (1) other Arts subject.

Jamb Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNIJOS for the 2022/2023 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored a minimum of  180 and above in your JAMB result.
