UNICAL Department of Nursing and Public Health Admission Requirement

This article is designed to help students who wish to study Nursing and Public Health  in the University of Calabar (UNICAL).

The University of Calabar is a university situated in Calabar, Cross River State, south-south Nigeria. It is one of Nigeria’s second generation federal universities. The University of Calabar was a campus of the University of Nigeria until 1975. The architecture was designed by John Elliott.

In this article we are going to be listing the necessary requirements candidates must meet to study Nursing and Public Health the University of Calabar (UNICAL)  ranging from O’level subject combination, JAMB Score and Post UTME Score and departmental cut-Off mark.

To study Nursing and Public Health , candidates must meet the following requirements.

O’LEVEL SUBJECT COMBINATION

Below is the O’level Subjects required for Nursing Science, Public Health, Public Health Technology AND Public & Community Health, in Faculty/College of MEDICAL/PHARMACEUTICAL/HEALTH SCIENCES;

  • Five (5) SSC credit passes in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and English Language.

JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION

Below is the UTME subject combination for Nursing Science, Public Health, Public Health Technology AND Public & Community Health, in Faculty/College of MEDICAL/PHARMACEUTICAL/HEALTH SCIENCES;

  • English Language(*), Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR NURSING SCIENCE

Below is the Direct Entry Requirements for Nursing Science, Public Health, Public Health Technology AND Public & Community Health, in Faculty/College of MEDICAL/PHARMACEUTICAL/HEALTH SCIENCES;

  • Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Biology/ Zoology, Chemistry and Physics plus three (3) other ‘O’ level credit passes in Mathematics, Physics and English Language
  • NRN or its approved equivalent plus five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language and four (4) Science subjects chosen from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Human Anatomy, Physiology and Hygiene, Health Science, Further Mathematics and General Science.

JAMB Score

For any candidate to be admitted in any Department in the University of Lagos, the Candidate must score 150 and above in JAMB.
