This is to inform the general public and all aspirants of the University of Calabar that the admission requirements for the Department of Education & History have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education & History include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes in the following subjects:
- English Language
- History and three(3) relevant Arts subjects
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- History and any other two (2) subjects from below:
- Christian Religious Studies /Islamic Studies
- Literature in English
- French
- Yoruba
- Geography/Physics
- Economics
- Government
- Hausa
Direct Entry Requirement For Education & History
Below is the Direct Entry Requirement for Education & History:
- Two (2) NCE merit/’A’ level passes in History and one (1) other relevant Arts subject
JAMB Score
For any candidate to be admitted in any Department in the University of Calabar, the Candidate must score 150 and above in JAMB.

The University of Calabar is a federal university in Cross River State, Nigeria’s south-south region. In 1975, the university was established.
The university has a very large student and staff population and a diverse student body. All applicants to the university are accepted, regardless of their cultural or religious background. Additionally, there is no restriction on applicants’ ages.
