This is to inform the general public and all aspirants of the University of Calabar that the admission requirements for the Department of Education & Geography have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education & Geography include the following: Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include the following subjects:
- Geography
- English Language
- Mathematics and any two Social Sciences/Arts subjects.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB
- English Language
- Geography plus two (2) other Social Sciences/Arts subjects
Direct Entry Requirement For Education & Geography
Below is the Direct Entry Requirement for Education & Geography:
- Two (2) ‘A’ level passes/NCE merit which should include Geography/Physics.
JAMB Score
For any candidate to be admitted to any Department in the University of Calabar, the Candidate must score 150 and above in JAMB.

The University of Calabar is a federal university in Cross River State, Nigeria’s south-south region. In 1975, the university was established.
The university has a very large student and staff population and a diverse student body. All applicants to the university are accepted, regardless of their cultural or religious background. Additionally, there is no restriction on applicants’ ages.
