This article is designed to help students who wish to study Banking and Finance in the University of Calabar (UNICAL).
The University of Calabar is a university situated in Calabar, Cross River State, south-south Nigeria. It is one of Nigeria’s second generation federal universities. The University of Calabar was a campus of the University of Nigeria until 1975. The architecture was designed by John Elliott.

O’LEVEL SUBJECT COMBINATION
Below is the UTME Requirement for Banking and Finance in Faculty of Social Sciences
English Language, Mathematics, one Social Science subject and any other subject.Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) other relevant subjects.
Please note that the UTME requirement (O’level combination) above is same for the courses below in faculty of Social/Management Sciences;
- Finance
- Taxation
- Office and Information Management
JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION
Below is the UTME/JAMB Subject combination for Banking and Finance in in Faculty of Social Sciences
English Language(*), Mathematics, one Social Science subject and any other subject.
Please note that the UTME subject combination above is same for the courses below in faculty of Social/Management Sciences;
- Finance
- Taxation
- Office and Information Management
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR BANKING AND FINANCE
Below is the Direct Entry requirement for Banking and Finance in in Faculty of Social Sciences
- Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Accounting or Economics and one (1) other subject.
- NCE merit in relevant subjects.
- ND credit.
- Foundation International exam such as ICAN, ACCA, ICMA, GPFA.
For any candidate to be admitted in any Department in the University of Lagos, the Candidate must score 150 and above in JAMB.
