This is to inform the general public and all aspiring students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) that the admission requirements for the Department of Industrial Relations & Personnel Management have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Industrial Relations & Personnel Management include the following:
- Five SSCE credits including English Language, Mathematics, and Economics plus any two subjects listed under the Direct Entry column
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB.
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Economics plus one other subject
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
UNIBEN accepts Business Method in lieu of Economics
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Industrial Relations and Personnel Management if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- Two ‘A’ level passes chosen from Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Government, Geography, and Statistics.
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
UNIBEN Accepts:
- ‘O’ level requirements plus two subjects at the GCE (A/L) or HSC one of which must be Economics, Business Management, or Mathematics. In exceptional cases, the following qualifications may also be considered
- ‘O’ level requirements plus a complete pass in the intermediate examination of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) or any other professional Human Resources Management body.
- ‘O’ level requirements plus the National Diploma in Business Administration, or any relevant subject (passed with a minimum average of upper credit)
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNIBEN for the 2022/2023 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 200 or above in your JAMB result.
