This is to inform the general public and all aspiring students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) that the admission requirements for the Department of Forestry & Wildlife have been published.
The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.
Entry Requirements
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Forestry & Wildlife include the following:
Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology and one in Physics, Economics, Further Mathematics, and Statistics.
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
UNIBEN accepts;
- Statistics and Further Mathematics. Also requires at least an ‘O’ level pass in Physics and an ‘O’ level pass in Biology for candidates with ‘O’ level credit in Agricultural Science.
JAMB UTME Subject Combination
Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB.
- English Language
- Chemistry
- Biology or Agriculture
- Physics or Mathematics
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Forestry & Wildlife if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;
- Two ’A’ level passes in Chemistry and Biology or Agricultural Science or Zoology or Botany.
Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks
UNIBEN accepts:
- ND upper credit/HND lower credit in any one of Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, and Cooperatives, Fisheries, Forestry & Wildlife Mgt., Geology, Advanced Microbiology, Food and Brewing Science, Science Laboratory Technology plus the UTME requirements.
- NCE merit in Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Physics plus the UTME requirements. Does not accept ‘A’ level pass in Health Science.
JAMB Score
All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNIBEN for the 2022/2023 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 200 or above in your JAMB result.
