UNIBEN Department of Fisheries Admission Requirement 2022/2023

This is to inform the general public and all aspiring students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) that the admission requirements for the Department of Fisheries have been published.

UNIBEN DIrect Entry

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.

Entry Requirements

O’Level Subject Combination

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Fisheries include the following:

  • Biology/Agricultural Science
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics
  • English Language plus any other Science subject.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination

Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB.

  • English Language
  • Chemistry
  • Biology/Agricultural Science, and any other Science subject.

Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Fisheries if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;

  • Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in any of Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Agricultural Science Geography, Mathematics (pure & applied), Physics, Geology,, and Economics.
  • NCE in Agriculture.

Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

UNIBEN accepts:

  • ND upper credit/HND lower credit in any one of Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, and Cooperatives, Fisheries, Forestry & Wildlife Mgt., Geology, Advanced Microbiology, Food and Brewing Science, Science Laboratory Technology plus the UTME requirements.
  • NCE merit in Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Physics plus the UTME requirements. Does not accept ‘A’ Level pass in Health Science

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNIBEN for the 2022/2023 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 200 or above in your JAMB result.
