UNIBEN Department of Education & French Admission Requirement 2022/2023

This is to inform the general public and all aspiring students of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) that the admission requirements for the Department of Education & French have been published.

UNIBEN DIrect Entry

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.

Entry Requirements

O’Level Subject Combination

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education & French include the following:

  • Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language and French.

Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

  • BUK, UNIBEN, OAU, UNILORIN, EKSU, UNIZIK, and LASU, accepts TC II merit in five (5) subjects.
  • UNIBEN requires other subjects chosen from History/Government, Fine Arts, Christian Religious Studies, and Literature in English plus English Language.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination

Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB

  • English Language
  • French plus two (2) other Arts subjects

Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

  • UNIBEN accepts Literature in English and two (2) other Arts or Social Science subjects.

Direct Entry Requirement

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Education and French if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;

  • Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes/NCE merit in French and one(1) other Arts subject.

Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

UNIBEN requires:

  • Two (2) or three (3)’O’ Level credit passes including English Language and others from Literature in English, Religious Studies, Fine Arts, French, History/Government plus three (3) or two (2) NCE merit including French.
  • Two (2)’A’ Level passes in relevant subjects plus the UTME requirements.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into UNIBEN for the 2022/2023 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 200 or above in your JAMB result.
