After a brief hiatus due to student disturbances, the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) is set to resume academic activities.
This decision was reached during an emergency Senate meeting on Tuesday, 13th June, 2023. University Reopens Effective Thursday, 15th June, 2023
After careful consideration of the interim report from the Special Committee investigating the Imawaje/Students fracas, the University Senate has approved the re-opening of the University.
The institution is set to resume regular academic activities effective Thursday, 15th June, 2023.
Adjustments to the University Calendar
Given the break, there has been a revision to the University calendar. The Senate has approved an extension of the Teaching Practice for 400-level students by one month.
This extension is designed to ensure that students have sufficient time to complete their practical teaching experience, an essential part of their curriculum.
Upcoming Matriculation Ceremony and First Semester Examinations
The matriculation ceremony for newly admitted students is scheduled for Wednesday, 21st June, 2023. This event marks the formal admission of new students into the University’s degree programs.
First-semester examinations for 100 – 300 level students are due to commence in the first week of July 2023. In preparation for these exams, the E-test continues on Monday, 19th June, 2023.
The University’s Zero Tolerance for Cultism and Violence
As students prepare to return to campus, the University reiterates its firm stance on cultism and violence. TASUED maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards these antisocial activities.
Students are warned to avoid all forms of violence as the University is committed to strictly enforcing its rules and regulations.
Any student found contravening these rules will face disciplinary action.
A Call for Cordial Relations with the Host Community
In addition to adhering to the University’s regulations, students are urged to maintain cordial relationships with the host community. This mutual respect and understanding foster a conducive learning and community development environment.
