TASUED Department of Human Kinetics Admission Requirement

This article is designed to  students who wish to study Human Kinetics  Faculty of Education in Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED)  as it is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in Tai Solarin University of Education, to carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.

The university was named after the Nigerian educational administrator and human rights activist Tai Solarin (1922–1994). It is the second university approved in Ogun State, and the 76th approved university in Nigeria. It was proclaimed a full-fledged university by the former governor of Ogun state, His Excellency Otunba Gbenga Daniel on 29 January 2005. The former Tai Solarin College of Education was approved by the Nigerian Universities Commission in 2005 as a university after a thorough analysis and appraisal of its facilities’ academic brief.

Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED, pronounced TARSUD), established on 29 January 2005 by the administration of His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, is a unique tertiary institution in the country. Apart from being the first of its kind in Nigeria, she also shares a unique feature as the only institution in the country that offers both the bachelor’s degree programmes in education (B.Ed.) and trains National Certificate of Education (NCE) graduates within the same academic environment.

To study Human Kinetics , candidates must meet the following requirements.

O’LEVEL SUBJECT COMBINATION

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Human Kinetics;

You require;

Five SSCE credits at one sitting to include English Language, Mathematics, Health Science/Physical Education/Biology and any two other subjects.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

1. UNILAG requires five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Health Science/Physical Education, one other science subject and other Subject.

2. EBSU requires five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology and any other two subjects.

3. IAUED – Same as Health and Safety Education

4. KWASU accepts credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and any other one Science Subject.

5. KSU requires five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects.

6. TASUED – Same as in Health Education.

JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION

In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Human Kinetics under the Faculty of Education in the above Universities include;

English Language and three other relevant subjects.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

1. UNILAG requires Biology and two other Science subjects.

2. IAUED – Same as Health and Safety Education.

3. KWASU requires Mathematics and any other two science subjects.

4. TASUED – Same as in Health Education

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Human Kinetics, if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require;

1. NCE in Physical and Health Education with overall percentage of 60% plus UTME requirements.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

1. TASUED – Same as in Health Education.

2. UNILAG accepts:
(a) Very good passes in three JUPEB subjects: Biology/ Health Sciences/Physical Education one (1) other Science Subject and any other subject.
(b) NCE in Physical and Health Education.
(c) University of Lagos 2-year Diploma in Human Kinetics and Health Education
(d) Candidates must also satisfy the O/Level requirement.

3. IAUED – Same as Health and Safety Education.

4. EBSU accepts RN/RM (registered nurses/registered midwife) certificate, NCE in Health and Physical Education plus UTME requirements. It also HND, NCE and ND with a minimum of Merit and Upper credit respectively in the relevant fields.

5. KWASU accepts:
a) Merit pass in IJMB/GCE A’ Level in relevant science subjects
b) At Least Merit pass in two major subjects in relevant areas at the NCE including Physical and Health Education in addition to O’Level requirements as specified for the UTME above.
c) Certificate of Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria or its equivalent in addition to the O’ Level requirements in the specified subjects for UTME.
d) No Direct Entry Admission for 2013/2014 Session.
e) Any other relevant qualification approved by the College of Education and the Senate of KWASU.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted to Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) for the 2019/2020 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 180 or above in your JAMB result.
