This article is designed to students who wish to study Education and Yoruba Faculty of Education in Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) as it is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in Tai Solarin University of Education, to carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.
The university was named after the Nigerian educational administrator and human rights activist Tai Solarin (1922–1994). It is the second university approved in Ogun State, and the 76th approved university in Nigeria. It was proclaimed a full-fledged university by the former governor of Ogun state, His Excellency Otunba Gbenga Daniel on 29 January 2005. The former Tai Solarin College of Education was approved by the Nigerian Universities Commission in 2005 as a university after a thorough analysis and appraisal of its facilities’ academic brief.
Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED, pronounced TARSUD), established on 29 January 2005 by the administration of His Excellency, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, is a unique tertiary institution in the country. Apart from being the first of its kind in Nigeria, she also shares a unique feature as the only institution in the country that offers both the bachelor’s degree programmes in education (B.Ed.) and trains National Certificate of Education (NCE) graduates within the same academic environment.
To study Education and Yoruba , candidates must meet the following requirements.
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Education and Yoruba;
Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language and Yoruba.
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Education and Yoruba under the Faculty of Education in the above Universities include;
Yoruba and any two (2) subjects chosen from History, Literature in English, French, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Studies, Arabic, Geography and Physics.
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Education and Yoruba, if you don’t intend to use UTME.
Two (2) NCE/’A’ Level passes in Yoruba and any of Literature in English, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Studies, Igbo and French.
All candidates interested in getting admitted to Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) for the 2019/2020 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 180 or above in your JAMB result.
