Benefits of Taiwan Higher Education Scholarships
Each scholarship recipient receives a full scholarship from the Taiwan ICDF, which includes return flights, lodging, tuition and credit fees, insurance, textbook costs, and a monthly stipend.
- Undergraduate Program (maximum of four years): Each student receives NT$12,000 per month (NT$144,000 per year) as a food and other living expenditure allowance.
- Master’s Program (maximum two years): Each student receives NT$15,000 per month (NT$180,000 per year) as a food and other living expenditure grant.
- Ph.D. Program (maximum four years; four-year Ph.D. programs began in 2012): Each student receives NT$17,000 per month (NT$204,000 per year) as a food and other living expense allowance.
Eligibility to Apply
- Be a citizen of a nation on the List of Countries Eligible for the Taiwan ICDF Scholarship (including select African countries) and meet any specific criteria imposed by his or her country and/or the government of citizenship.
- Be neither a Republic of China (Taiwan) national nor an overseas compatriot student.
- Meet the entrance standards of the partner university where he or she has applied for a Taiwan ICDF scholarship.

How to Apply for Taiwan Higher Education Scholarships
To apply for the Taiwan Higher Education Scholarships, follow the steps below:
- Applicants must submit an online application (available at the Program Webpage link below). Then, along with all other application materials, submit a signed, printed copy to the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/ Consulate (General)/ Representative Office/ Taiwan Technical Mission or project representative in their nation.
- Keep in mind that each applicant is only allowed to apply for one program at a time.
- The applicant must additionally submit a separate program application to each of his or her chosen colleges.
