Scholarship Coverage

Simmons University Kotzen Scholarships provide the following incentives to the recipient:

  • Each year, a $3,000 scholarship is offered for study abroad, short-term courses, summer internship expenses, and research support.
  • The scholarship covers full tuition, mandatory fees, and room and board.

Eligibility Criteria for the Simmons University Kotzen Scholarships

Students applying for the Simmons University Kotzen Scholarships must meet the following criteria:

  • English is the required language.
  • All countries in the world are eligible.
  • A standardised test score of 28 or higher on the ACT, 1300 or higher on the new SAT, or 1250 or higher on the previous SAT CR+M. A minimum score of 600 on each SAT section is strongly advised.
  • Apply for the autumn semester as a freshman.
  • TOEFL and SAT or ACT scores are required for non-native English speakers.
  • A college preparatory curriculum that includes an advanced-level math course during or before your senior year of high school
  • Unweighted GPA of 3.3 or higher
  • A track record of completing honours, advanced placement (AP), and international baccalaureate (IB) courses through their high school systems.

How to Apply for the Simmons University Kotzen Scholarships

Please follow the following application steps to avail of Simmons University Kotzen Scholarships.

  • By December 1, applicants must have completed and submitted their scholarship and admission applications to the College.
  • The application is divided into two parts. A brief response and a formal essay. Students should send their essays to ugadm@simmons.edu with the subject “Kotzen Application” by December 1. Students should include their full name and date of birth on each document page.
  • Short Answer (no more than 250 words): How would you use your extra $3000 annual award (for study abroad, short-term courses, summer internship tuition, and/or research support)?
  • Formal Essay (maximum 500 words): How can a woman most effectively lead change in today’s world?
  • Finalists accepted for scholarship consideration will be expected to participate in an on-campus interview in February. If you are an overseas applicant who cannot go to campus, you may be interviewed by Skype instead.
