Scholarship Coverage

Shandong University Scholarships are of three (3) categories:

First Class Scholarship

• Avail the tuition fee for the duration of the course of study;
• Offer a monthly stipend of 700 RMB to Bachelor and Master students. The monthly fee for PhD students is 1,000 RMB.

Second Class Scholarship

• A yearly tuition fee with a reduction of 50%.

Third Class Scholarship

• A yearly tuition fee with a reduction of 20%.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for Shandong University Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

• Required Language: English or Chinese
• Eligible Countries: All world countries apart from China

Degree and age requirements for Shandong University Scholarship

• Candidates are required to have a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification and be under the age of 25. When applying for Bachelor programs;
• When applying for Master’s programs, applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification and be under the age of 35; and when applying for PhD programs,
• Applicants must have a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification and be under 40.
• Have an outstanding academic record and good scientific research abilities.
• During the year in which the applicant gets the SDU Scholarship, they are not eligible for any other scholarship financed by the Chinese government.

Language Requirements for Shandong University Scholarship

For programs or courses taught in Chinese:

• When applying for Bachelor programs, applicants must have obtained 210 points or higher on the HSK 4 test;
• When applying for Master programs, applicants must have obtained 180 points or higher on the HSK 5 test;
• And when applying for PhD programs, applicants must have obtained 180 points or higher on the HSK 6 test.

For programs or courses taught in English:

• Native English speakers ( U.S., U.K., Canada, New Zealand, Australia).
• English-speaking applicants are required to submit results of IELTS (6.0 or above), TOEFL (80 points or above / My best scores (DI code for Shandong University: C296) or other equivalent credentials to demonstrate English ability are accepted.
• English speakers who have earned their highest degree or diploma in an institution where English is the language of instruction are exempt from submitting IELTS / TOEFL scores. Official documentation demonstrating English as the language of teaching is required.

How to Apply for Shandong University Scholarship?

• To complete the application, eligible applicants must connect to the SDU Online Application System for International Students.
• The Shandong University Scholarship for International Students Application Form must be completed electronically in Chinese or English.
• The applicant should sign the application form, scan it, and upload it to the system. Postal applications will not be accepted.

• Applicants are expected to submit all application materials as specified in the application instructions and will be held responsible for the authenticity of any documents provided.
• Only complete or fraudulent applications will be accepted.
