Salem University Lokoja has been granted full accreditation for seven academic programs, including Geology, Computer Science, and Biochemistry, from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
This accomplishment has marked a significant milestone for the University and has expanded its educational offering for students.

The Accreditation Process
An accreditation visit was conducted by the NUC to Salem University in November and December 2023 to assess the academic programs submitted for accreditation.
The seven courses were granted full accreditation following a thorough review permitting the institution to operate as a comprehensive university.

The Salem University Lokoja’s seven fully accredited programs include
- MSc/MBA Business Administration
- BSc Computer Science
- BSc Information Technology
- BSc Geology
- BSc Microbiology
- BSc Biochemistry
- Salem University Lokoja can now admit many students to its diverse educational opportunities and career paths with these accredited courses.
Celebrating the Achievement
At the news, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Alewo Johnson-Akubo of Salem University, expressed his gratitude, stating that there was a significant development for the institution based on the accreditation of all their programs in the seven colleges.
He also stated that the University’s infrastructural facilities were well-equipped to accommodate many students.
Salem University Lokoja can now grant admission to more students for the 2023/2024 with the full accreditation of these seven programs, with access to top-quality education.
The institution’s growth and development will contribute to the nation’s overall development and the advancement of Nigeria’s higher education sector.
