RSU Department of Crop Science Admission Requirement 2022/2023

This is to inform the general public and all Rivers State University (RSU) aspirants that the Department of Crop Science Admission requirements has been published.

The admission requirements include O’level Subject combinations, JAMB UTME Subject combinations, and School and Departmental Cut-Off Marks.

Entry Requirements

O’Level Subject Combination

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Crop Science include the following:

  • Five SSCE credit passes to include Chemistry, Biology/Agric Science, Mathematics, and one Science/Social Science subject and at least a pass in Physics.

Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

  • RSUST and UNN require ‘O’ level credit in Agricultural Science with at least ‘O’ level pass in Biology. Requires ‘O’ level credit passes in Chemistry, Economics, and Mathematics

JAMB UTME Subject Combination

Candidates will write the following Four (4) Subjects in JAMB

  • English Language
  • Chemistry
  • Biology/Agriculture
  • Mathematics or Physics

Direct Entry Requirement

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Crop Science if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;

  • Two ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Biology/Agric Science/Botany/Zoology or Physics/Mathematics/ Economics.

Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

  • RSUST requires HSC/GCE ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Biology, including ‘O’ level credit pass in English Language, ND upper credit in Biology or Agricultural Science, or HND credit in Biology or Agricultural Science in addition to the UTME requirements

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into RSU for the 2022/2023 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 180 or above in your JAMB result.
