Host/ Eligible Nationality: DAAD scholarship is available to Chad citizens and other citizens of a country in Sub-Saharan Africa who have a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree qualification with at least above average results seeking to pursue a Ph.D. degree.

Level/Field of Study: This scholarship is open to Students in Chad and other eligible African students pursuing a Ph.D. degree program.

Scholarship Worth: This Scholarship will be awarded to those that merited it, with the following price listed below:

  • The scholarship covers full tuition fees, a monthly stipend at DAAD rates, limited contribution research costs. However, please note that this is not a full scholarship, as DAAD will only provide funding as stated in the scholarship information sheet.
  • The successful applicant will be registered at Strathmore University and supervised by renowned health systems researchers from the university and the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Program.
  • They will also have access to various generic skills training offered by IDEAL

Royal Society Africa Prize for African Applicants in the UK

Host/Eligible Nationality: The Royal Society has created a great opportunity thereby inviting applications for the Royal Society Africa Prize in the UK. The prize is open to research scientists from Chad and others based in Africa who are making an innovative contribution to the biological sciences, including basic medical science, which contributes significantly to capacity building in Africa.

Level/Field of Study: The Prize is open to those pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Chad and other African Students.

Scholarship Worth: The Prize will make a grant with a total sum of £11,000, including VAT where applicable, to the Recipient for a research project and also £1,000 as a personal prize for the Recipient.

The Recipients will also be awarded a specially struck commemorative medal and they are expected to receive the Prize in person at a ceremony at the Royal Society, except in exceptional circumstances such as ill-health

WISE – Futures Ph.D. Scholarship Opportunities at NM-AIST in Tanzania

Host/Eligible Nationality: The African center of excellence on Water Infrastructure and Sustainable Energy Futures (WISE – Futures) at Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) in Arusha, Tanzania is inviting applications for WISE – Futures Ph.D. Scholarship Opportunities. These scholarships are open to regional (Africa) students.

Level/Field of Study: The Prize is open to those pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Chad and other regional (African) students.

Scholarship Worth: This partial scholarship will run for three years.

Fully Funded AfriPlantSci Summer School Scholarships 

Host/Eligible Nationality: Applications are invited for the AfriPlantSci Summer School Scholarships for Early Career Researchers in Kenya for Chad citizens and other African Nationals This is a 2-week, residential program, which gives an interactive learning experience to researchers.

Level/Field of Study: The Scholarship is available to pursue research. This includes MSc students, Ph.D. students, and researchers who recently graduated from their studies (within the space of 5 years).

Call DOTE Scholarship Program for Applicants from the Middle East and North Africa

Host/Eligible Nationality: These Applications are now open for the Call DOTE Scholarship Program funded by Dancing on the Edge (DOTE) collaboration with the Henny Jurriëns Studio (HJS). This scholarship is open to the new generation of contemporary dancers from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA region).

Full Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan Non-Aligned Movement Scholarship

The Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan is glad to offer the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Scholarship to study Bachelor’s, Masters and Doctoral levels. This scholarship is available to citizens of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) countries (this includes Chad).

Australia Awards Scholarship

Host/Eligible Nationality: Australia Awards Scholarships, formerly known as Australian Development Scholarships (ADS), They are delighted in providing opportunities for people from developing countries, particularly those countries located in the Indo-Pacific region, to undertake full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study at participating Australian universities and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions.

Level/Field of Study: The Scholarship is available to those pursuing a Ph.D. degree.

Scholarship Worth: The Scholarship awards the following: full tuition fees, return air travel, establishment allowance, contribution to living expenses (CLE), Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), Introductory Academic Program (IAP), Pre-course English (PCE) fees.

Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship Programme

Host/Eligible Nationality: The Aga Khan Foundation is delighted to provide a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from Chad and other developing countries who have no other means of financing their studies.  Scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant: 50% loan basis through a competitive application process once a year.

Level/Field of Study: The Scholarship is available to those pursuing a Ph.D. degree.

Scholarship Worth: The Foundation covers: tuition fees and living expenses only. The cost of travel is not included in AKF scholarships.  Funding for Ph.D. programs is only provided for the first two years of study, after which the students are expected to find alternative sources of assistance.

Ghent University Doctoral Scholarships for Candidates from Developing Countries

Host/Eligible Nationality: With support from its “Special Research Fund” (BOF), Ghent University grants Ph.D. scholarships to promising Ph.D. students from Chad and other developing countries who wish to carry out half of their Ph.D. research at Ghent University and half in a university in a developing country.

Level/Field of Study: The Scholarship is available to those pursuing a Ph.D. degree.

Scholarship Worth: The Ghent University Doctoral Scholarship awards the following:

  •  Ph.D. scholarship at Ghent University  (24 months), 24 months of Ph.D. research will be executed at the partner university in the South, for which no funding is provided through this scholarship. This part of the research (24 months) must be funded (e.g. local Ph.D. scholarship or salary) at the partner institution in the South,  The Ghent University promoter receives a bench fee of €15.440 to cover (part of) the operational costs, as well as part of the traveling costs of the student and both the Ghent University and the local promoter.

Edinburgh Global Research Scholarships

Host/Eligible Nationality: The University of Edinburgh is glad to offer 30 scholarships for Ph.D. Research Programme in any field of study offered by the University for the 2022 academic session for Chad students and other foreign Nationals.

Level/Field of Study: The Scholarship is available to those pursuing a Master’s and Ph.D. degree.

Scholarship Worth: Each scholarship includes the difference between the tuition fee for a UK/EU graduate student and that chargeable to an overseas graduate student. The awards do not cover maintenance expenses.

Subject to satisfactory progress, the awards are also tenable for up to three years.

Eiffel Scholarships in France for International Students

Host/Eligible Nationality: The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program was established by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs to enable French higher education institutions to attract top foreign students to enroll in their masters and Ph.D. programs.

It gives the opportunity to the future foreign decision-makers of the private and public sectors, in priority areas of study, and encourages applicants from  Chad and other developing countries at master’s level, and from developing and industrialized countries at the Ph.D. level.

Level/Field of Study: The Scholarship is available to those pursuing a Ph.D. degree.

Scholarship Worth: The program meets various expenses including international return trips, national and local transport, health insurance, and cultural activities. Scholarship holders may also receive an additional housing allowance, under certain conditions.

Tuition fees are not covered by the Eiffel Program. The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs expects the educational institutions, whose international influence is enhanced by this program, to make sure students receive the best financial support.

Students admitted to public educational institutions are, as French government scholarship holders, exempted from enrolment fees.

UWC School of Public Health Postdoctoral Fellowships for Sub-Saharan Africans in South Africa

Host/Eligible Nationality: The UWC School of Public Health is inviting applications for Postdoctoral Fellowships in the field of Health Policy and Systems linked to the two NRF/DST SARChI Chairs in the School for the year.

Students from Sub-Saharan Africa are eligible to apply. Chad Students seeking to pursue a Ph.D. degree are not also exempted from this great opportunity

Level/Field of Study: The Scholarship is available to those pursuing a Postdoctoral and Ph.D. degree.

Scholarship Worth: The fellowship is initially tenable for one year starting in 2020, and it covers tax-free at a maximum of R300, 000 per annum. Renewal for a second year will be considered depending on satisfactory academic progress and continued funding.

UCT Genetics Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for Sub-Saharan Africans in Africa

Host/Eligible Nationality: The Genetics Postdoctoral Research Fellowship is now available at The University of Cape Town in South Africa for the year 2022. Students from Sub-Saharan Africa are eligible to apply for this fellowship.

Level/Field of Study: The Scholarship is available to those pursuing a Postdoctoral and Ph.D. degree.

Scholarship Worth: The fellowship is valued at R300 000 per annum. The fellowship may also be renewed for a second year depending on satisfactory progress and mutual agreement.

Swiss Government Scholarships for Chad Students, 2022

Host/Eligible Nationality: Swiss Government is glad to announce the offering of excellent scholarships for Chad scholars in Switzerland. These scholarships are available for pursuing Ph.D., postdoctoral, and research programs at one of the public-funded universities or recognized institutions.

Level/Field of Study: The Scholarship is available to those pursuing a Postdoctoral and Ph.D. degree.

Scholarship Worth: The scholarship awards the following:

  • The scholarship amounts to a monthly payment of CHF 1’920.
  • For non-EU and non-EFTA grantees only: mandatory Swiss health insurance is paid by the FCS.
  • There are no family allowances.
  • Scholarship holders from outside continental Europe receive a flight allowance (lump sum) for a ticket back to their country of origin (provided at the end of the scholarship).
  • Special CHF 300 housing allowance (paid once at the beginning of the scholarship).
  • One-year half-fare public transportation card.
  • Support services and various trips, dinners, and sightseeing tours organized for Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship holders.
  • Ph.D. scholarship holders may request a supplementary allowance for fieldwork. For field trips lasting longer than 2 months, the scholarship amount will be reduced to 50%.

UCSI University Trust Graduate Scholarship 2022

Host/Eligible Nationality: UCSI University Trust Graduate Scholarship is glad to announce the ongoing grant for Chad students who desire to pursue a Ph.D. degree.

Level/Field of Study: The Scholarship is available to those pursuing a Ph.D. degree.

Scholarship Worth: The scholarship awards the following:

All fees and costs that are not covered by the graduate scholarship are to be borne by the candidate, which shall include but not be limited to the semesterly medical plan payment applicable.

The Gen Foundation Grants for Student and researchers in UK, 2022

Host/Eligible Nationality: The Gen foundation in the UK invites applications for the Gen Foundation Grants open to students/researchers from Chad and other foreign nationals in food science and food technology for the 2022 academic year

Level/Field of Study: The Scholarship is available to those pursuing a Ph.D. degree.

Scholarship Worth: The scholarship covers small grants of between 500-5000 euros to support students or research activities in food science or food technology.

Czech Republic Scholarship Programme for Foreign Nationals from Developing Countries (Funded)
