This article is designed for students who wish to study Urban and Regional Planning Faculty of Engineering, Environment, and Technology in Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY) Higher National Diploma (HND).
It is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered at Osun state polytechnic to carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.
Osun State Polytechnic Iree also has Daily Part-Time Program (DPT) at the Koko campus.
To study Urban and Regional Planning, candidates must meet the following requirements.
O’Level Subject Combination
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Urban and Regional Planning;
- Geography and three other subjects from:
- English Language,
- Fine Art/Technical Drawing,
- Further Mathematics,
- History/Government Business Methods/Bookkeeping and Principles of Accounting One of the three subjects must be a basic science subject.
- At least a credit pass in English Language is compulsory.
Jamb Subject Combination
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Urban and Regional Planning under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology in the above Universities include;
Geography and two other subjects from the course requirement
U.T.M.E. Subjects and Special Remarks
Accepts Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.
Accepts any three of Mathematics, Geography and any one from Economics, Biology or Agricultural Science.
Accepts Economics in lieu of Geography.
requires Mathematics, Geography/Economics, and any one subject from Sciences or Fine Art.
Direct Entry Requirement
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Urban and Regional Planning if you don’t intend to use UTME.
IBD-Poly and Osuntech
Require a credit in English Language and Geography.
Requires a credit pass in English Language.
Requires four relevant credits at one sitting or five credits at not more than two sittings.
- Requires credits in English and Mathematics and a pass in any of the following science subjects:
- Biology/Agricultural Science plus any one credit from subjects chosen from:
- Economics, Geography, Art/Tech Draw.
Accepts a pass in English Language. Requires Mathematics, Economics/Geography, and a Science subject as a UTME subject.
Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, one subject from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Agricultural Science, and any other from Government, Statistics, Fine Art/Technical Drawing, History, Commerce, Further Mathematics/Physics, Chemistry, or Biology.
Requires credit passes in Mathematics and Geography, a Basic Science subject, and one from English Language, Economics/Commerce, Art/Technical Drawing, and Statistics and offers the course Urban and Regional Planning.
Requires O/L credits in Mathematics, Eng. Lang, Geography, and other subjects from Economics, Arts, and Tech. Drawing, Government/History, Chemistry, Physics, Biology.
Does not accept History and Government as course requirements. It, however, requires a credit in Geography.
Does not accept Commerce, Business Methods, Agric. Science, Government/History, and Account but accepts a Credit Pass in Statistics.
Accepts a pass in English Language.
Requires credit passes in Mathematics, a Science Subject, and any other three subjects chosen from those listed in column 2
Requires four credits at one sitting or five credits at not more than two sittings to include Mathematics, English language, and one science subject. Other subjects from Chemistry, Physics, Biology/ Agricultural Science, Geography, Economics/Commerce, Fine Arts/Technical Drawing, Government/History, Religious Knowledge, Further Mathematics, and Nigerian Language.
All candidates interested in getting admitted to the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, for the 2023/2024 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.
