OSPOLY Department of Arts & Design Admission Requirement

This article is designed to  students who wish to study Arts and Design Faculty of Arts and Humanities in Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY) Higher National Diploma (HND)  as it is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in Osun state polytechnic, to carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.

Osun State Polytechnic, Iree also known as OSPOLY is a tertiary learning institution in Iree, Osun State, Nigeria. The Polytechnic was formerly a satellite campus of The Polytechnic, Ibadan. It became autonomous on 12 October 1992 when the Governor of Osun State, Alhaji, Isiaka Adeleke, signed the law establishing the institution alongside The Osun State College of Technology located at Esa-Oke in Osun State.  Osun State Polytechnic Iree also has Daily Part Time Program (DPT) which is located at Koko campus.

To study Arts and Design , candidates must meet the following requirements.

O’LEVEL SUBJECT COMBINATION

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Art and Design;

You require; English Language,
Fine Art
Mathematics and any two of the following: History/Government
Chemistry/Physical Science,
Biology/Agricultural Science,
Literature in English,
Clothing and Textiles,
Religious Knowledge,
Economics/Commerce
Geography,
Home Economics

JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION

In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Art and Design under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities in the above Universities include;

Fine Art and any two of the following:
History,
Chemistry,
Mathematics,
Biology and
A Nigeria Language

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Art and Design, if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require; U.T.M.E.

a) IBADAN-POLY requires credit pass in Nigerian Language and accepts Commerce, Economics. Also accepts a pass in Mathematics/English Language.

b) AUCHI-POLY accepts a pass in English Language.

c) IMTE offers it as Fine Arts.

d) KOGI-POLY offers it as Arts and Industrial Design.

e) LASPOTECH requires credit in Art and Eng. Language.

f) NEKEDE-POLY requires credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three from History/Government, Literature in English, Clothing and Textiles, Chemistry/Physics, Economics/Commerce, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts.

g) RUGIPO requires five O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Fine Art/Visual Art/Technical Drawing and any three of History, Chemistry/Physics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Literature in English, Mathematics, Religious Knowledge Clothing & Textile, Economics, Geography, Commerce and Government.

h) MAPOLY accepts five credits in not more than two sittings or four credits at one sitting with a minimum of pass in English Language.

i) AUCHI-POLY requires five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and any other three subjects at a sitting. Six credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at two sittings as course requirements.

j) AUCHI-POLY accepts any three subjects as UTME subjects.

U.T.M.E. SUBJECTS

a) NEKEDE-POLY does not insist on Fine Arts as a UTME subject and also as UTME requirement.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted to the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree for the 2019/2020 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 120 or above in your JAMB result.
