The Osun State government has approved the conversion of the State College of Education, Ilesa, to a full-fledged university.
Adegboyega Oyetola, the Governor of Osun State, disclosed this during the commissioning of Ijesa Geriatric Centre on Thursday, handing over N1 billion worth of Ijesaland Geriatric Centre funded by the community.
In his words, “Having looked into and examined carefully the request made by prominent sons and daughters of Ijesa Land, and Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Aromolaran, Government has decided to upgrade the Osun College of Education, Ilesa, to a full-fledged University.
The governor also announced that the services of KPMG have been engaged as consultants to work out a sustainable plan for the project.
