OAU Department of Building Admission Requirement 2023/2024

This article is designed to help students who wish to study Building under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment, and Technology at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).

It is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered to carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.

Obafemi Awolowo University offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in specialization spanning the humanities, the arts, the natural sciences, the social sciences, the medical sciences, engineering, and technology.

The university has 13 faculties and two colleges the Postgraduate College and the College of Health Sciences — administered in more than 60 departments. It was previously associated with Loma Linda University in California, USA.

O’Level Subject Combination

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Building; You require;

• Five SSCE credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, and any one of Geography, Economics, Arts, and Technical drawing. For holders of NTC, the other relevant subjects could be Intro. to Building Construction, Bricklaying, Concreting, Walls, Floors and Ceiling Finishing, Building/Engineering Drawing, Joinery, Carpentry, Gas, Steam Work and Bronze Welding, Cold/Hot Water Supply, Sanitation, and Drainage.

Special Consideration (Waiver) Remarks

• OAU accepts any one of the Additional Mathematics, Biology, Building Construction, and Land Surveying in addition to the listed options.

JAMB Subject Combination

In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Building under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology in the above Universities include;

• Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry

Direct Entry Requirement

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to the study Building if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;

• ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into OAU for the 2023/2024 session should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 200  or above in your JAMB result.
