LASU has taken a huge step forward in its expansion efforts, with the NUC visiting the institution on Thursday, 13th April 2023, conducting a resource assessment of eight(8) new academic programs.
Under the leadership of Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, the Vice Chancellor, LASU aims to get the first students admission into these programs soon.
The new programs include at the Ojo main Campus B.Sc. Science Laboratory Science; B.Sc. Radiography and Radiation Science, BMLS Medical Laboratory Science
At the College of Medicine Ikeja, Lagos, Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) Programmes; and B.Sc Industrial Engineering, B.Sc Industrial Design, B.Sc Civil Engineering, B.Sc Survey, and Geo-Informatics and B.Sc Civil Engineering at the University Epe campus.
At the senate chambers during the NUC teams’ reception, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello expressed positivity that the level of preparedness will be satisfactory with the assessors.
He also assured them of the full support of the university in carrying out their duties.
Prof. Y.A. Adediran, team leader for industrial engineering, thanked the Vice Chancellor for the warm reception and stated that the exercise is an effort to verify that the actual resource in place is in alignment with the resources submitted to the NUC.
Before bidding them farewell, the Vice Chancellor handed the teams over to Deans responsible for the new programs, respectively, as they proceeded to the university’s various campuses.
Prof. Biodun Adewuya, the provost, the college of medicine, and several other Deans, officials, and university management attended the meeting.
This assessment at Lagos State University (LASU) will undoubtedly strengthen its reputation and ensure it continues attracting top students and faculty members.
