NUC Approves Full Accreditation Of 21 Undergraduate Programs At KUST

The Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil, has received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission for 21 academic programs in five faculties.

The approval contained in a letter dated April 14 and signed by the NUC Executive Secretary, Professor Abubakar Abdulrasheed, through the commission’s Director of Accreditation, Dr. Maryam Sali, stated that the full accreditation was valid for the next five years.

The accreditation follows the inspection and validation of manpower resources and facilities available to train highly skilled graduates.

Some of the fully accreditated academic programs by the commission include:

  • Education Geography
  • Health Education
  • Human Kinetics
  • Library and Information Science.
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Food Science and Technology
  • Urban and Regional Planning
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Geology
  • Mathematics
  • Microbiology
  • Physics
  • Statistics
  • Computer Science.

Earlier, the university also received the commission’s full approval for establishing 14 new academic programs and one postgraduate program after a successful resource assessment.

The new programs include Forestry and Wildlife Management, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Quantity Surveying,  Estate Management, and Building Technology, among others.
