Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements

In UTME, please note that the English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combinations needed to study Urban and Regional Planning under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology in the above Universities include;

  • CRESENT requires Mathematics, Physics, and any Chemistry/Biology/ Geography.
  • ESUT requires Mathematics, Biology/Geography, and any other (1) of Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Government, or Agricultural Science.
  • FUTA requires Mathematics and any two (2) Physics, Chemistry, Economics, and Geography.
  • FUTO requires Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. (v) JOS accepts any one of Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Economics, and Biology as the third subject.
  • UNILAG accepts Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Geography/Economics and Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or Fine Arts.
  • LAUTECH accepts Geography and two (2) of Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Government, Biology, and Agricultural Science.
  • MAUTECH requires Geography, Economics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, or Physics.
  • OAU requires Economics in addition to Mathematics.
  • OOU accepts Mathematics or Geography. Three (3) of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Arts of Economics are required.
  • UNIOSUN requires Mathematics and any two (2) subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Economics, and Geography.
  • UNN requires Mathematics and any (2) subjects of Economics, Government, Geography, Fine arts, Physics, Chemistry, Biology Agricultural Science.
  • CARITAS requires English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Physics, or Chemistry.

O’Level Requirements

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Urban and Regional Planning; You require;

Five SSCE credit passes are in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Government, Biology, Art, History, IRK/CRK, Social Studies, and Tech Drawing.
 

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

  • ABSU does not insist on Geography. It requires an ‘O’ level credit pass in Economics plus the UTME requirements.

ABU requires five (5) ‘0’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any other two (2) from Economics, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts, Chemistry, and Biology.

BELLS requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two (2) from Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Technical Drawing.

BSU requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and any three (3) of Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Government, Biology, Art, History, IS/CRS, Social Studies, Technical Drawing, and Geography.

CRESCENT requires two (2) other subjects from Science or the Social Sciences.

ESUT accepts credit passes in Fine Arts and Surveying

FUTA requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings or equivalents in English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two (2) subjects from Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Economics, and Technical Drawing. The prospective candidate must have at least an ‘O’ level pass in Physics.

FUTO requires at least five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English Language, and any other form of Geography, Biology, Economics, and Technical Drawing.

UNIJOS requires two (2) other ‘O’ level credit passes in Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Biology, Fine Art, and Technical Drawing.

UNILAG requires ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two (2) of Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, and Fine Arts/Technical Drawing.

(xi) LAUTECH accepts Agricultural Science as sciences.

(xii) MAUTECH requires five (5) `O’ level credit passes in English Mathematics, Geography, Economics, and any one from Technical Drawing, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Fine Arts, Visual Arts.

FUTMINNA and ABSU require five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two (2) subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Fine Arts, Technical Drawing, Economics, and Government.

OAU requires English Language, Mathematics, Geography, Economics, and any other from Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts/Government.

RENAISSANCE requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Geography/Technical Drawing, at not more than two (2) sittings.

RSUST and UNIOSUN require two (2) subject Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts, Economics, Biology, and Surveying. RSUST accepts ‘O’level credit pass in Government.

RSUST, IMSU, and ESUTECH do not accept IS, CRS, History, and Social Studies.

UNN requires (5) ‘O’ level credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, and any other three (3) subjects from Economics, Government, Fine Arts, Technical Drawing, Physics, Chemistry, Agric Science, and Biology.

UNIUYO requires ’ an O’level credit pass in Mathematics.

CARITAS requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes or equivalents to include English Language, Mathematics, and any three (3) from Geography, Physics, Biology, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts, Surveying, Economics, and Government.

JABU requires five (5) ‘O’level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any other two (2) subjects plus ND upper credit level.

Direct Entry Requirements

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Urban and Regional Planning if you don’t intend to use UTME. You require;

  • Two A/L passes in Geography and Mathematics.
  • ND/HND (Upper Credit) in Town Planning or related discipline plus UTME requirements are accepted.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

  • ABSU accepts ND in Town Planning Architecture, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Surveying and Estate Management.
  • ABU requires ‘A’ level /IJMB passes in Geography and one of Economics/Mathematics and ND upper credit in Urban and Regional Planning or related Environmental Sciences from accredited institutions.c) HND lower credit in URP or related Environmental Sciences.
  • BELLS accepts two (2) ‘A’ level passes from Mathematics, Geography, Biology/Physics and ND/HND upper credit in Town Planning or related programs plus the UTME requirements.
  • CRESCENT accepts ‘A’ level/IJMB relevant subjects are acceptable. And ND/HND lower credit in Urban and Regional Planning or allied programs may be admitted to the appropriate level.
  • FUTA accepts ‘A’ level passes in at least two (2) of Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Physics, and Chemistry and ND upper credit in Town Planning and related subjects.
  • FUTO requires at least three (3) `A` level passes not below grade C in Mathematics, Geography, and one of Physics or Chemistry and Accepts ND/HND upper credit in relevant programs plus UTME requirements.
  • JABU accepts five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any other two (2) subjects plus ND upper credit.
  • UNIILORIN accepts HND lower credit in Urban and Regional Planning for admission into 200 Level, provided the candidate has at least ND lower credit.
  • UNIJOS accepts ND in Town Planning, Land Surveying, Building, Architecture, Estate Management, and Quantity Survey and at least two (2) passes at the GCE ‘A’ level, HSC or IJMB, one of which must be in Geography.
  • KUST accepts two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Geography and Mathematics and points at IJMB in Geography, Mathematics, and any of Chemistry, Physics, Economics, or Biology and ND upper credit in Town Planning or related program.
  • UNILAG accepts passes in JUPEB/‘A’ level subjects, Mathematics, Geography, and any one (1) of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Economics and HND/ND distinction in Urban and Regional Planning into 300/200 level.
  • LAUTECH accepts ‘A’ level passes ND/HND upper credit in related programs plus the UTME requirements for admission into 200 level.
  • MAUTECH accepts at least an `A’ level pass with ND in Urban Design and Architecture.
  • OAU accepts three (3) ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics, Geography, and any subject from Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Technical Drawing/Fine Arts.
  • OAU accepts HND upper credit in programs relevant to Environmental Design and Management with at least NOT less than 60% in any subject offered.
  • OAU accepts ND/HND upper credit in Town Planning or related programs.
  • ABU accepts ND lower credit plus UTME requirements.
  • UNN accepts ND upper credit in Town Planning or its equivalent plus UTME requirements and an ‘A’ level pass in Mathematics and any two (2) of Geography, Economics, Government, Fine Arts, Technical Drawing, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and UTME requirements.
  • CARITAS requires five (5) credit passes in SSC or equivalent with at least two (2) passes at an ‘A’ level, including Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, and Fine Arts. Accepts ND in either Town Planning or relevant programs in Environmental Sciences with a minimum of five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes.
