The management of Newgate College of Health Technology, Minna, Niger State, will be conducting a two-day re-accreditation exercise by the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria for the institution’s Community Health department.
Led by Alhaji Salisu Abubakar, comprising Hajia Rakiya Muktar, Alhaji Saleh Katanga, and Mrs. Binta Abdullahi, the accreditation team, a meeting with the College’s management began their visit.
The Provost, Mrs. Queendaline Opara Iwuala; Dr. John Akiboh, deputy provost; Mallam Abdul-Hakeem Hussaini Baba, the registrar; Mrs. Shekwolo Patience, Human resource manager; and other management staff were in attendance.
The team proceeded to meet the Head of the Community Health Department, Hajiya Maryam Hassan Abubakar, before they began the actual inspection for the re-accreditation exercise.
The inspection started with the demonstration laboratory and the Community health skills, followed by a visit to the Demonstration Clinic, where inspection of different units within the facility.
To conclude the first day of the exercise, the accreditation team also inspected the Library and Information & Communication Technology Centre and Library.
The team is to visit various healthcare institutions within Minna on the second day, as expected, where department students are posted for SIWES.
Human resource verification of the department and an exit briefing by the re-accreditation team conclude the exercise.
