This is to inform the general public that the National Examination Council(NECO) 2023 GCE result is out.
According to the National Examination Council (NECO), at least 727,864 candidates, or 60.74% of the 1,198,412 who took the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) this year, received at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
889,188 candidates (74.89%) of those who took the school-based examinations this year received five credits in English Language; similarly, 929,140 candidates received credits or higher in Mathematics.
Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushshi, Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NECO, announced the results on Thursday at the NECO headquarters in Minna, Niger State’s capital.
He stated that 1,209,703 students registered for the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations this year, with males accounting for 636,324 and females accounting for 573,376.
A student with this certificate (NECO) can apply for higher education or a job. Previously, taking the NECO exam was optional for students.
However, many people took the exam as a safe bet to ensure they met all of the requirements for admission to a higher education institution.
To pass a NECO exam, a student must successfully write exams in 9 subjects. Mathematics and English are the most important.
