The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna, is one of the first of two Military Universities in Nigeria. Nigerian Army University established in 2018 in Biu, Borno State is the other military university though it does not offer military training. The duration of training at the Nigerian Defence Academy is 5 years for Army cadets (4 years Academic + 1 year Military) and 4 years for Navy and Air force cadets after which they proceed to Nigerian Naval College, Onne, Port-Hacourt and 301 Flying Training School(301FTS), Kaduna respectively for 1-year training at their respective services.

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Accounting;
You require;Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) other relevant subjects.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNILORIN – requires Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) other subjects out of the following: Financial Accounting/Book Keeping, Commerce, Government, Geography obtained from WAEC, NECO, GCE, IJMB and NABTEB.
(ii) AJAYI requires two (2) other subjects from Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Geography and Government.
(iii) RNU and CRESCENT accept ‘O’ Level credit pass in Commerce in lieu of Economics.
(iv) CRESCENT: requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credits passes which include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two (2) social science subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
(v) UNICAL requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) of Arts or Social Science subjects.
(vi) LANDMARK requires Five(5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics or Accounting,a science/social science subject and any commercial studies.
(vii) NTNU accepts one subject from Accounting, Banking and Finance, Commerce, Geography, Business Studies, Government or Statistics in lieu of Economics.
(viii) GOUNI requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings in subjects which include English Language, Mathematics and Economics.
(ix) RUN requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics or Accounting.
(x) AAU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Government/History and any other subject.
(xi) NDU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any two (2) other subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
(xii) KWASU requires: five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting and any other social science subject.
(xiii) UMYU accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) relevant Social Science subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
(xiv) OOU requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in any three (3) of Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Government and Geography. Islamic Studies/ Christian Religious Studies, Yoruba and History.
(xv) CHRISTOPHER requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, one Science subject and any one of Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Government, Geography or Statistics.
(xvi) BELLS require five (5) ‘O’ Level credits passes at one or two (2) sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) subjects.
(xvii) PAU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics/ Economics/ Accounting/ Commerce and other relevant subjects.
(xviii) CCU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) relevant subjects.
(xix) NDA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Accounting and any two (2) Arts and Social Science subjects from Commerce, Government, Civic Education, Accounting, Geography, History and Economics.
(xx) UNIKINGS requires five (5) credits passes at SSC in English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) Social Science subjects.
(xxi) EDSU requires five (5) credit passes at SSC or its equivalent including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and two (2) other relevant subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
(xxii) MTU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at not more than two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two subjects from the following: Geography, Biology, Commerce, Government, Accounting and Book-keeping.
(xxiii) BUK requires five (5) SSCE credit passes in Government or History, English Language, a credit in any social science and two other subjects from any field.
(xxiv) PAU requires five (5) SSCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics/Economics/Accounting/Commerce and any other relevant subjects.
(xxv) UNIHEZ requires Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics or Commerce and two (2) other Arts and Social Science subjects for Accounting.
(xxvi) KASU requires Five‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and two other subjects.
SUBJECT COMBINATION
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Accounting under the Faculty of Social & Management Sciences in the above Universities include;
Mathematics, Economics and any other Social Science subject.

(vi) OOU accepts Mathematics/Economics and any two (2) other Social Science subjects

(ix) KSU accepts Commercial subjects in place of Social Science subjects.

d.ND in Accountancy with Upper Credit or ND with Lower Credit with ICAN (ATS)

(iii) BINGHAM, AJAYI and AAU require ‘A’ Level pass in Accounts, accept ND in Accounting, Banking and Finance or Business Management.
(iv) CRESCENT requires
(a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes to include Mathematics and either Economics or Account.
(b) IJMB at acceptable grades.
(c) NCE credit, ND lower credit, and approved equivalent of may be admitted to the appropriate level.
(v) BIU requires in addition to the ‘O’ Level requirements specified, a minimum of two (2) relevant subjects passed at ‘A’ Level or NCE three (3) merits or ND credit in relevant programme.
(vi) BU accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes which must include Economics, IJMB/NCE/ND or approved equivalent in relevant subject(s).
(vii) UNICAL accepts (i) DBA, ND upper credit in relevant programmes; HND lower credit in relevant programme. (ii). does not accept IJMB or ‘A’ Level paper or NCE for Direct Entry.
(viii) UNICAL accepts five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes, including English Language and Government, a pass in Mathematics, plus two (2) ‘A’ Level subjects in the Social Sciences with a minimum of C.
(ix) KWASU accepts IJMB, Cambridge ONLY, ND upper credit in Accounting, HND Accounting (Lower Credit).
(x) BELLS accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in any two (2) of Chemistry, Economics, Geography and Mathematics.
(xi) CRAWFORD accepts
i. Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes including Economics plus anyone of Accounting, Government, Commerce, and Business Management.
ii. NCE pass in Accounting, Business Studies or any Social Science
iii. ND/HND lower credit in relevant subjects.
(xii) WESTERN-DEL accepts
a. Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes including Economics and one other subject.
b. NCE merit in relevant subjects.
c. ND lower credit in Accounting, Banking and Finance.
(xii) ADELEKE accepts ‘A’ Level passes in Economics or Business Management and one other subject, or ND/NCE upper credit in Accounting, Business Management Studies from an approved Polytechnics, College of Technology or College of Education.
(xiii) SALEM requires ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics and any other relevant subjects.
(xiv) DELSU accepts
a) GCE ‘A’ Level or HSC passes in Accounting or Economics and at least one other subject.
b) ND obtained from approved polytechnics or colleges of technology in Accounting with a grade not lower than Upper Credit.
c)Foundation/Intermediate Exam. Passes of recognized professional bodies as ICAN, ACCA, ICMA, ANAN, ACIB, provided the candidates have credits at WAEC, SSCE or GCE O/L in five subjects to include English Language, Mathematics and Economics.
(xv) RHEMA accepts ND/HND in Accounting plus the UTME requirements.
(xvi) GOUNI accepts B.Sc., BA or HND in other programme, ND upper credit in Accounting, Foundation of ICAN.
(xvii) UMYU requires minimum of nine (9) points in IJMB/HSC/GCE ‘A’ Level/NCE in Economics, Mathematics and any of Social and Management Science subjects. Candidates with ND lower credit in relevant programmes from recognised institutions may also be admitted.
(xviii) RNU accepts ND credit from a recognised institutions in related programmes like Accountancy, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, Marketing plus the UTME requirements.
(xix) CALEB accepts ND credit in Accounting, Banking, Financial Studies or Social Sciences, related studies may be considered for admission by direct entry provided they have the UTME requirements at one sitting.
(xx) NDU requires
i. Candidates must possess two (2) ‘A’ Level passes which must include Economics or:
ii. ND upper credit in a related programme.
iii. Candidates must satisfy the normal UTME requirements.
(xxi) NTNU accepts any two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Arts or Social Science subjects, ND/HND lower credit or NCE merit in relevant programmes.

b. Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Accounting or Economics and any one other subject.
c. Foundation of professional examination such as ICAN, ACCA, ICMA.

c)ND/HND at credit level in related discipline.
d)Very good passes in JUPEB/IJMB subjects.
(xxviii) BUK accepts two (2) ‘A’ level passes including Government or History.
(xxix) UNIHEZ accepts Two (2) A level passes including Economics for Accounting.
(xxx) KASU accepts Two ‘A’ level passes chosen from Accounting, Economics, Business Administration and one other relevant subject. Foundation of professional examination such as ICAN, ICCA, ICMA and ANAN. ND/HND Lower Credit in relevant Discipline. NCE at merit level in Accounting, Business Administration and Economics/IJMB 7 points and above in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements.
(xxxi) LANDMARK accepts Two(2) A level passes including Economics.
(xxxii) MTU: For Accounting;
a)In addition to ‘O’ Level requirements, candidates must possess three (3) ‘A’ Level passes in the relevant commercial courses acceptable to the University or Foundation/JUPEB obtained from Mountain Top University or other recognized Universities.
b)Possess OND Lower Credit in relevant courses including Accounting, Finance, Insurance, Banking and other Financial Studies courses.
c)Possess National Certificate of Education, Merit in relevant courses including Accounting, Finance, Insurance, Banking and other Financial Studies courses.
d)Possess Final level pass of ICAN-ATS and Foundation pass of recognized professional bodies such as ICAN, ACCA (London), CIMA (UK), CIBN, CITN and others who are members of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
All candidates interested in getting admitted into NDA for the 2019/2020 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have scored 200 or above in your JAMB result.
