Comrade Sunday Asefon, the president of NANS, made this announcement in Abuja on Wednesday.
He praised the NLC’s leadership for their perseverance and willingness to join forces with well-intentioned Nigerians to call for an end to the protracted ASUU strike.
He stated, “While the NANS has organized several protests in the past with no tangible outcomes, our advocacy and consulting efforts have also been fruitless. We have activated political solutions and are optimistic that an end is imminent.
“However, we fully support the planned protest by the NLC, as we believe it will stem up the advocacy and help put sufficient pressure on the Federal Government to do all necessary to end the strike.
“Therefore, I urge all NANS structures across the nation to mobilize and join the NLC protest.” NANS will solely participate in the mobilization of students to protest sites and will act following NLC directives.
Throughout the protest, NANS structures across the nation shall be subject to the leadership of the NLC.”
