The Manipur government’s Ministry for the Welfare of Minorities and Other Backward Classes is making a MOBC scholarship available for the state’s other backward classes indigenes. The information is intended to notify all parties involved that online applications are being accepted from interested students/candidates.

The scholarship is intended to promote education and social upliftment. The MOBC Manipur Scholarship is only available to candidates whose families have a low income and cannot afford to pay for their education. What is MOBC?

On 30/7/1998, the Manipur Ministry for the Welfare of Minorities and Other Backward Classes was established for the welfare of minorities and OBCs.

The main goal of establishing the MOBC is to protect the interests of minorities and other disadvantaged class communities, as well as to include welfare programs/arrangements for minorities and other backward classes in the state. The plan’s goal is to provide meritorious students from economically disadvantaged sectors of the minority community with better opportunities for higher education, increase their rate of achievement in higher education, and improve their employability.

The scholarship will be awarded for studies in India at a government or private upper secondary school/colleges/universities, including government residential institutes and eligible private institutes chosen and transparently notified by the State Government / Territorial Union of Administration correspondent. The Plan’s goal is to provide financial assistance to poor and deserving students from minority communities so that they can pursue professional and technical education. These scholarships are only available for study in India and will be awarded by the Administration of the State Government / UT or an Agency designated by the Administration of the State Government / UT for that purpose.

Post-Matric Scholarships for Students from Scheduled Castes:

The plan’s goal is to provide financial assistance to scheduled caste students studying in post-enrollment or post-secondary state so that they can complete their education.

These scholarships are only available for study in India and are awarded by the government of the State / Territory of the Union to which the applicant truly belongs, i.e. is permanently established.

Pre-Matric Scholarship for Students from Scheduled Castes:

The plan’s goal is to assist parents of children with SC with the education of their children in classes IX and X so that the incidence of school dropout is minimized, particularly during the transition from primary to secondary school, and to improve the participation of SC children in pre-matric classes IX and X so that they have better performance and a better opportunity to progress to the post-matric stage of education.

The scholarship under the Plan will be available only for studies in India and will be awarded by the Government of the State / Territory of the Union to which the applicant belongs, i.e. where he is domiciled.

Post-Matric Scholarship for Students from the Economically Backward Class (EBC):

The plan’s goal is to provide financial assistance to students from the Economically Backward Class (EBC) who are in the post-enrollment or post-secondary stage of their education so that they can complete their education.

These scholarships will be available for studies in India that take place only in government institutions and will be granted by the Government of the State / Territory of the Union to which the applicant truly belongs, implying that they will be permanently liquidated.

Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students:

The plan’s goal is to provide financial assistance to OBC students studying in post-enrollment or in the post-secondary state in order for them to complete their education.

These scholarships are only available for study in India and are awarded by the government of the State / Territory of the Union to which the applicant truly belongs, i.e., is permanently established.

MOBC students can apply for a Pre-Matric Scholarship.

MOBCs living below twice the poverty line constitute a sizable proportion of the population, and there are disparities between OBCs to begin with. Scholarships are proposed for the children of the school’s poorest OBC parents, whose annual income is less than twice the poverty line.

Criteria for MOBC Scholarship Eligibility
