MAUTECH Department of Technical Education Admission Requirement

This article is designed to help students who wish to study Technical Education under the Faculty of Education in The Federal University of Technology Yola now known as Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola  as it is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in MAUTECH to  carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB

The Federal University of Technology Yola now known as Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, is a research intensive university located in Girei a town in Adamawa State in Northeastern Nigeria. It is one of the 27 federal government university system and one of only 4 federal technology universities established with the sole purpose of advancing science based research. The Federal University of Technology Yola is accredited by the National Universities Commission. The university offers associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD degrees

O’LEVEL SUBJECT COMBINATION

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Operations Research;

You require;Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and one (1) other subject

 

 

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) MAUTECH requires Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science, Geography, Economics/Commerce, Computer Studies/IT/ Data processing

JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION

In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Technical Education under the Faculty of Education in the above Universities include;

Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) UNIBEN requires any Science subject in lieu of Chemistry.

(ii) UNILAG requires Mathematics, Physics/Technical Drawing, and any other Science/Technical subjects.

(iii) TASUED requires English Language, Mathematics and any two (2) Science subjects

(iv) IAUE requires Physics and one (1) Science subject or Geography, Economics or Technical Drawing.

(v) UNIZIK accepts Mathematics, Physics and any other subject.

(vi) DELSU accepts Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry and any other Arts/Social Science/Science subjects.

(vii) AAUA accepts Physics/ Mathematics and any two Science or Social Science subjects

(viii) BUK requires any three (3) relevant Science or NBC subjects.

(ix) RSUST requires English language, Mathematics and any other two (2) subjects from Chemistry, Physics, Technical Drawings, Geography.

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Technical Education, if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require;

(i) NCE merit in two (2) relevant Science subjects plus the UTME requirements.

(ii) Two ‘A’ Level passes in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) UNIUYO accepts ND upper credit and HND lower credit in relevant programme or equivalents in Science or Engineering.

(ii) DELSU accepts at least merit pass in NCE or Upper credit OND Technical Education in any combination of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

(iii) MAUTECH accepts NCE Technical/Science merit in relevant subjects plus the UTME requirements.

(iv) AAU accepts the following qualifications into 200 level programme if they satisfy the UTME requirements.

(a)NCE Technical/Science

(b)Associate Degree in Science or Technology.

(c)ND/HND in Science Engineering.

(d)City and Guilds Full Technological Certificate. NCE Technical Education, Advanced Technical Certificate with three related ‘O’ Level subjects, ND in Technical Courses

(v) IAUE, MAUTECH and DELSU accept any of the following qualifications into 200 level if they satisfy the UTME requirements.

(a)ND/HND in Science or Engineering;

(b)City and Guilds Full Technological Certificate.

(vi) UNIBEN accepts City AND Guilds final or Engineering Technicians Certificate (Part II), plus three (3) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at one (1) sitting.

(vii) UNIBEN

(a) requires two (2) or three (3)NCE merit including Technical Education plus three (3) or two (2) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at one (1) sitting.

(b) accepts Advanced National Teachers’ Certificate in relevant Studies plus five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language.

(c) Two (2) NCE merit in Physics/ Chemistry, Chemistry/Mathematics or Physics / Mathematics plus three (3) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at one (1) sitting.

(viii) UNILAG accepts

(a)Very good passes in three (3) JUPEB subjects; Physics/ Technical Drawing and any other two (2) Science subjects.

(b)NABTEB/NTC Advanced

(c)London City and Guilds of London Advanced.

(d)WAEC Technical Advanced

(e)NCE credit/merit in Technical/Technology Education, Building/ Woodwork, Electrical/ Electronics, Mechanical/Auto Mechanical and any other relevant Technical course in addition to UTME requirements.

(ix) MAUTECH accepts NCE merit in relevant subjects. It also accepts `’A’ Level passes in related subjects.

(x) TASUED accepts NCE merit in two (2) relevant Science subjects plus the UTME requirements or ND/HND upper credit in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic or Building Technology.

(xi) NDU – Same as Vocational and Technical Education.

(xii) AAUA accepts

(a)`’A’ Level passes in Mathematics and Physics and relevant Studies.

(b)ND lower credit in Civil Engineering and Production.

(c)Final City and Guilds or equivalent plus the National Technical Certificate

(d)NCE merit/NABTEB including credit in Physics and Mathematics

(e)City and Guilds Engineering Technicians Part II certificate

(f)ND credit in Computer Education, Physics, Mathematics and Computer science.

(xiii) BUK requires;

(a)NCE in relevant Science subjects.

(b)Two (2) ‘A’ level passes from Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.

(xiv) RSUST accepts

Admission into Year III; HND (Upper Credit) in the relevant discipline or related profession.

Admission into Year II; HND (Lower Credit) in related professions/discipline. OND, ND/ACE (Upper Credit) in related professions/discipline. NCE Technical Education programme with a minimum of Pass. Two (2) GCE ‘A’ Level /HSC passes credit from Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Technical Drawing. Full Technological Certificates of C&G London Institute or Part three Technician’s Certificate with National Technical Teachers Certificate (NTTC), UCTE from RSUST can be substituted for NTTC

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into MAUTECH for the 2019/2020 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have score a minimum of  160 and above in your JAMB result.
