The Federal University of Technology Yola now known as Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, is a research intensive university located in Girei a town in Adamawa State in Northeastern Nigeria. It is one of the 27 federal government university system and one of only 4 federal technology universities established with the sole purpose of advancing science based research. O’LEVEL SUBJECT COMBINATION
The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Information Technology;
Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Economics and Mathematics.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) BASUfive (5) O’ level credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Any of Commerce, Economics, Business Method, Home Economics and any two (2) of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Agricultural Science and Health Science.
(ii) BELLS require Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Economics and Mathematics.
(iii) MAUTECH requires Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language and Mathematics any three of ICT/Computer Science/Data Processing, Principles of Accounting/Bookkeeping, Further Mathematics, Physics, Geography, Government, Chemistry, Store Management, Office Practice/Insurance, Commerce/Economics, Marketing/Entrepreneurship.
In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Information Technology under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment & Technology in the above Universities include;
Mathematics, Economics and any one of Account, Commerce and Government.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) BASU requires Mathematics, Economics and any of Chemistry, Physics or Biology.
(ii) BELLS requires Mathematics, Physics and any one subject from Chemistry, Biology, Geography and Economics
(iii) MAUTECH requires Economics and any two of Principle of Account, Commerce, Government, Geography and Mathematics
These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Information Technology, if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;
‘A’ level passes/ND and HND in relevant subjects into 200 and 300 levels.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) BASU accepts
a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in any of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science.
b) ND/HND upper credit in relevant programmes into 200 level.
(ii) BELLS – For Infrmation Technology accepts Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Economics and Mathematics.
(iii) MAUTECH accepts Diploma with at least lower credit in any of the following: Information Technology, Computer Science/ Engineering, NCE with major in Computer or ICT, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Library Science, Management Information System, Information Management Technology (IMT). IJMB/HSC/GCE A level (with at least points) ICT/Computer Studies and any one of the following: Accounting/Bookkeeping, Commerce, Geography, IMT, Government, Business Administration/Management, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research

All candidates interested in getting admitted into MAUTECH for the 2019/2020 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have score a minimum of 160 and above in your JAMB result.
