MAUTECH Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management Admission Requirement

This article is designed to help students who wish to study Forestry And Wildlife Management under the Faculty of Agriculture  in The Federal University of Technology Yola now known as Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola  as it is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in MAUTECH to  carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB

The Federal University of Technology Yola now known as Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, is a research intensive university located in Girei a town in Adamawa State in Northeastern Nigeria. It is one of the 27 federal government university system and one of only 4 federal technology universities established with the sole purpose of advancing science based research. MAUTECH JAMB/Departmental cut off mark for all course


The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Forestry And Wildlife Management;

You require;

Five SSCE credit passes in English, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and one of Physics, Economics, Further Mathematics and Statistics.


(i) UNICAL requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes at one (1) sitting or six (6) ‘O’ level credit passes at two (2) sittings to include English Language, Biology/Agric science, Chemistry, Mathematics and any one (1) of Geography, Physics and Economics.

(ii) FUNAAB requires:

a. credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.

b. at least ‘O’ level pass in Physics.

c. candidates with ‘O’ level pass in Biology must possess ‘O’ level credit pass in Agricultural Science. Does not accept Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.

(iii) UNIILORIN accepts Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.

(iv) ABU requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Agricultural Science.

(v) MAUTECH requires Five (5) O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, and any one from Physics/Geography/Economics/Woodwork/Tourism

(vi) FED-GASHUA requires five (5) SSC Credit passes to include: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric Science and Physics

(iiii) FED-WUKARI Five (5) Credits at not more than two sittings including English Language and Mathematics from the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science, Physics/Geography/, Animal Husbandry/Fisheries or Forestry and obtained at SSCE, GCE O’ Level, NECO, NABTEB, or its equivalent.


In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Forestry And Wildlife Management under the Faculty of Agriculture in the above Universities include;

Chemistry, Biology or Agriculture and Physics or Mathematics.


(i) UNIILORIN requires Chemistry, Physics/ Mathematics and Biology/Agricultural Science. UNIILORIN accepts Geography in lieu of Physics or Mathematics

(ii) MAUTECH requires Biology/Agricultural Science and any other two (2) of Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Economics and Mathematics.

(iii) FED-GASHUA accepts Chemistry, Biology/Agric Science and any one of Physics or Mathematics

(iv) FED-WUKARI requires Chemistry, Mathematics/ Physics/ Geography, Biology/Agricultural Science.

(v) ABU accepts Chemistry, Biology and any other Science Subject


These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Forestry And Wildlife Management, if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require;

Two (2) ’A’ level passes in Chemistry and Biology or Agric Science or Zoology or Botany.


(i) UNICAL accepts NCE/ND and HND in Agriculture, Forestry, Wildlife, or Fisheries Management from recognised institutions.

(ii) UNICAL requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Biology or Agriculture

(iii) FUNAAB accepts;

(a) Two (2) ‘ A’ level credit passes in Chemistry and one of Zoology/Botany/Agricultural Science/Biology, Mathematics or Physics.

(b) ND/HND upper credit in Agriculture from a recognised institution in any one (1) of Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Fisheries, Forestry and Wildlife Management, Agricultural Technology plus the UTME requirements.

(c) NCE credit in Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics plus the UTME requirements.

(iii) ABU accepts:

i) two (2) ‘A’ level / IJMB Passes in Chemistry and any of Biology, Botany, Zoology and Agricultural Science.

ii) HND in Agriculture or related field of study with a minimum of Lower credit pass.

iii) ND in Agriculture or related field of study with a minimum of Lower Credit/Merit pass.

(iv) FED-GASHUA accept OND/ND (Upper Credit), HND (Lower credit), NCE Merit pass in Agriculture, Forestry and Wildlife and other related field into 200 Level. It also accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level Passes in Chemistry and one from Biology/Zoology/ Agric Science, Economics, Physics, Geography and Geology/Mathematics (Pure & Applied).

(v) UNIILORIN accepts

a) ND (Forestry/Wildlife) or related program with minimum of lower credit from recognized institutions into 100 level.

b) HND (Forestry/Wildlife) or related program with minimum of lower credit.

c) NCE Agriculture double major at credit level

(vi) MAUTECH accepts HND in Agriculture at credit level, ND Distinction in Agriculture. Does not accept NCE.

(vii) FED-WUKARI – Direct Entry Candidates must obtain two A/L passes in GCE/IJMB/Advanced NABTEB or a merit pass at NCE or at least Lower Credit in ND/HND in Food Science and Technology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Science Laboratory Technology, Agricultural/Chemical Engineering. Candidates must also obtain Five (5) Credits at O/L in GCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB which must include English Language, Mathematics and Chemistry

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into MAUTECH for the 2019/2020 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have score a minimum of  160 and above in your JAMB result.
