MAUTECH Department of Agricultural Econmics and Extension Admission Requirement

This article is designed to help students who wish to study  Agricultural Economics and Extension under the Faculty of Agriculture  in The Federal University of Technology Yola now known as Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola  as it is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in MAUTECH to  carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB

The Federal University of Technology Yola now known as Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, is a research intensive university located in Girei a town in Adamawa State in Northeastern Nigeria. It is one of the 27 federal government university system and one of only 4 federal technology universities established with the sole purpose of advancing science based research. O’LEVEL SUBJECT COMBINATION

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Agricultural Economics and Extension;

You require;

Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and one of Geography, Physics and Economics.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) ABSU requires five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and one of Physics or Economics.

(ii) FUTMINNA  accepts;

(i) ND/NCE with a minimum of lower credit plus the UTME requirements.

(ii)  ND/NCE credit into 200 level while those with HND may be admitted into 300 level.

(iii)TSU  accepts Statistics in lieu of Physics.

(iv) COOU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any one of Mathematics, Physics, Geography and Economics.

(v) MAUTECH requires Five (5) O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, and any one from Physics/Geography/Economics/Marketing.

(vi) LAUTECH requires English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any of Physics/ Economics/Geography.

(vii) UNICAL requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Physics.

(viii) RSUST requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Agricultural Science with at least ‘O’ Level pass in Biology. Requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in Chemistry, Economics and Mathematics.

(ix) ESUTECH requires at least ‘O’ Level pass in Physics

(x) UNIPORT requires Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any one of Physics, Geography and Economics.

(xi) LAUTECH requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in Biology and Physics

JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION

In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Agricultural Economics and Extension under the Faculty of Agriculture in the above Universities include;

Chemistry, Biology/ Agricultural Science plus Mathematics or Physics.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS

(ii) TSU and UNICAL require Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and either Mathematics or Physics. TSU also accepts Economics.

(iii) MAUTECH requires Biology/Agric. Sc. and any other two (2) of Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Economics and Mathematics.

(iv) UNIPORT requires Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any one of Physics or Mathematics or Geography or Economics.

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Agricultural Economics and Extension, if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require;Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and one of Zoology/Botany/Agricultu ral Science/Biology, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Geology, Economics and Health Science.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) ABSU accepts ND/HND at credit level.

(ii) UNICAL – accepts

(a) two (2) ‘A’ level passes in any of Chemistry, Biology / Botany/Zoology/Agricultural Science/ Geography /Geology /Economics and Mathematics.

(b) HND, ND/NCE merit but does not accept IJMB and accepts at least ‘O’ level pass in Physics

(iii) EKSU and BSU accept ‘O’ level pass in Physics

(iv) UYO accepts ND upper credit HND lower credit, NCE merit in relevant programs plus UTME requirements.

(v) MAUTECH accepts any of the following:

(a) GCE `A’ Level credit passes in Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Sc.

(b) OND/HND in Agric and other relevant field with a minimum of Lower Credit.

(c) IJMB with 7 points credit passes in Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science or Mathematics

(vii) RSUST accepts ND upper credit HND/NCE at credit level in relevant subjects, plus UTME requirements into 200 level.

(viii) LAUTECH accepts ND upper credit/HND/NCE at credit level in relevant subjects, plus the UTME requirements.

(ix) TASU in addition to UTME requirements accepts

(a) ‘A’ level passes to include Chemistry and any of Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics

(b) ND lower credit and NCE merit

(c) HND upper credit and NCE Distinction

(x) EBSU accept;

a) two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and one from Biology/Botany/ Zoology/Agric Science, Economics, Physics, Geography and Geology/ Mathematics (Pure and Applied)

b) NCE with minimum merit passes in relevant subjects

c) HND and OND with minimum of upper credit in relevant programs.

(xi) FUAM accepts ND/HND/NCE in Agriculture, Agricultural Science and Education, Forestry, Home Economics, Food Science and wildlife along with the UTME requirements. Candidates with ‘O’ Level credit pass in only one of Mathematics and Physics must have ‘O’ Level pass in the other.

(xii) UNIPORT accepts Two (2) A/level GCE or HSC or JUPEB or IJMB passes in Agricultural Science and any one from Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Economics including UTME entry requirements. OND (Upper Credit) in Agriculture from a recognized Institution including UTME entry requirements. HND with at least a (Lower Credit) from a recognised institution, including UTME entry requirements for a 3-year degree programme. Diploma in Agriculture from a recognised institution with minimum of Credit Pass, including UTME entry requirements.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into MAUTECH for the 2019/2020 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have score a minimum of  160 and above in your JAMB result.
