Aim and Benefits of Macquarie University Masters Scholarship

  • The scholarships amount to 50% of the total tuition charge and will be applied to your tuition fee when you begin your studies at Macquarie University.
  • This scholarship does NOT give financial assistance in the form of a living stipend, nor does it cover the costs of visa applications, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), airfares, accommodations, conferences, or other study-related expenses.
  • The Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship for African Women in STEM is a one-time opportunity that cannot be repeated.

Requirements for Macquarie University Masters Scholarship Qualification

To be eligible for this award, you must be a female undergraduate or postgraduate student studying Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics. You must also meet the following requirements:

  • To be eligible for this award, you must be a citizen of the Sub-Saharan Africa* region.
  • A minimum of 65 WAM for Postgraduate applications or 85 ATAR (or equivalent) for Undergraduate applications is required.
  • Hold a full offer for one of the courses indicated below in the ‘Applicable course’ section (single or double degree).
  • Be a full-time student studying on campus (or online if COVID-19 border restrictions apply).
  • Must not have received a scholarship or sponsorship from Macquarie University or another organisation (unless the Scholarship states otherwise).

How to Apply for Macquarie University Masters Scholarship

  • Applicants must complete an online course application form. Once your course application has been processed, you will be given a Macquarie University Student Number, which you must have to complete the online scholarship application form.
  • Applicants must complete an online scholarship application form and type “African Women STEM” in the Scholarship Name field.
  • They will contact you regarding sending your selfie video provided if you are assessed as having met all other eligibility criteria.
