This is to inform the general public and candidates who have registered and are ready for the 2023 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations that the list of prohibited items in the exam hall has been released by JAMB.
JAMB’s Weekly Bulletin contains the list of Prohibited Items that won’t be allowed into any of its centers during this year’s examination. The items are:

Other Devices, such as
- Spy reading glasses
- Cameras
- Earpiece
- Bluetooth devices
- USB
- CD
- Hard disk and other similar storage devices

- Books or any reading/writing material
- Ink/pen readers
- Key holders
- ATM cards

The bulletin further stated: “to ensure that the board’s examinations meet best global practice, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has prohibited using the following items during examinations.
“Candidates are hereby advised in their best interest not to bring these items close to the examination venue. Any breach of this directive would bar the candidates from taking the examination.”
JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, disclosed that some candidates who breached the directive and brought some devices to the hall last year were caught and handed over to security agencies.
