Lens Polytechnic Admission Requirements

The general admission requirement for a National Diploma at Lens Polytechnic is a minimum of 5 O’level credits (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or equivalents) obtained at a minimum of two sittings and a pass in the JAMB UTME.at a minimum of two sittings and a pass in the JAMB UTME.

Another entry mode is a pass of the National Vocational Certificate (NVC) from an approved institution. Students who have passed the pre-ND programme of the course they’re applying for are also eligible.

Specific Requirements:

  • Computer Science: 5 O/Level credits including Mathematics, English, one from Physics, Chemistry, Computer Studies, Info. Tech, and any two. To be eligible, applicants must have taken Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography, Technical Drawing, Economics, Further Mathematics, and other technical/science subjects in up to two sittings.
  • Statistics: 5 O/Level credits including Mathematics, and four from Physics, Chemistry, Computer Studies, Info. Tech, and any two from Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography, Technical Drawing, Economics, Further Mathematics and other technical/Science /social science subjects in at least two exam sessions. A passing grade in English is required at a minimum.
  • To study Business Administration, you need to have a minimum of five O/Levels, including English Language and Mathematics. Additionally, you must have three other subjects, which can be chosen from economics, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Commerce, History, Statistics, Geography, Government, Agric Science/Biology, and any other Science/Social Science subjects.
  • Accountancy: To be eligible, five O/Levels are required, including English Language and Mathematics. Additionally, three other subjects can be chosen economics, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Literature in English, Commerce, History, and Statistics. Geography, Government, Agric Science/Biology and any other Science/Social Science subjects.
  • Mass Communication: Any 5 O/Levels including English Language, one of Literature in English, Languages (Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, French, Arabic etc.) and any other three other subjects. A pass in Mathematics is allowed.
  • Graphics Design and Advertising: To be eligible, a minimum of 5 O/Level credits in Technical, Science, or Social Science subjects is required. At least a pass in either English or Mathematics is required, but not a pass in both.
  • Multimedia Technology: To meet the requirements, you need to have five O/Level credits. These should include Mathematics and Physics, as well as any three subjects: Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography, Technical Drawing, Economics/Commerce, Accounting, and other technical/science/social science subjects. You must obtain these credits in up to two sittings. If you have a National Diploma, a pass in English is acceptable.
  • Electrical Electronic Engineering: 5 O/Level credits including Mathematics, English, Physics and any two from Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography, Technical Drawing, Economics, Further Mathematics and other technical/Science subjects in not more than two sittings.
  • Computer Engineering Technology: 5 O/Level credits including Mathematics, Physics and any three from Chemistry, Further Mathematics and other technical/Science, Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography, Technical Drawing, Economics, subjects in not more than two sittings. A pass in English is allowed for ND.
  • Networking and System Security Engineering: 5 O/Level credits including Mathematics, Physics and any three from Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography, Technical Drawing, Economics, Further Mathematics and other technical/science subjects in not more than two sittings.
  • Computer Hardware Engineering: 5 O/Level credits, including Mathematics, Physics and any three from Chemistry, Geography, Technical Drawing, Biology/Agricultural Science, Further Mathematics, and Economics, You can pass technical and science subjects in a maximum of two attempts.   • Telecommunication Technology: 5 O/Level credits including Mathematics, Physics and any two from Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography, Technical Drawing, Economics and Further Mathematics in not more than two sittings. A pass in English is allowed for ND.
