JUTH Post Basic Perioperative Nursing Program 2023/2024

Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), located in Jos, Nigeria, is now inviting applications from both male and female candidates for its 2023/2024 academic session of Post Basic Perioperative Nursing School.

Entry Requirements

Prospective candidates seeking admission into the Post Basic Perioperative Nursing program at JUTH should take note of the following requirements: The candidate must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a current practising license.

1. To be eligible, Candidates should have at least two (2) years post qualification experience, preferably in the Perioperative / Operating theatre unit.
2. Candidates should possess the West African School Certificate / Senior Secondary Certificate (WAEC), National Examination Council of Nigeria (NECO), or General Certificate of Education (GCE) at the ordinary level.
3.  To be eligible for this course, it’s important that applicants must have earned at least five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. These credits should have been obtained in no more than two sittings. The course lasts for twelve months and is offered on a full-time basis. Applicants who are not able to meet the requirements above are ineligible.

Application Procedure and Cost

Candidates who are Interested can obtain the application forms from the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee’s (CMAC) office at JUTH Permanent Site, Lamingo.

To acquire the forms, candidates must present the receipts of payment of a non-refundable fee of Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (N7,500.00) only, obtained from the Accounts Department of the Hospital.

The fee of N7,500 should be paid via Remita in favour of the Post Basic Perioperative Nursing School, Jos University Teaching Hospital, Jos.

After the payment, candidates should submit the Remita to the HOD (Accounts), Jos University Teaching Hospital, Lamingo, Jos Plateau State, to collect the receipt of payment.

Completed application forms, enclosed in a big brown envelope, should be forwarded to the office of the Programme Coordinator, Post Basic Perioperative Nursing School, Jos University Teaching Hospital, Temporary site, Murtala Mohammed Way, Jos, on or before 14th July 2023.

Selection Process and Important Dates

Based on their performance, Candidates will be selected in an oral interview or written examination.

The written examination is scheduled for Wednesday, 19th July 2023, at 7:00 am prompt, while the oral interview will take place on Thursday, 20th July 2023, at 10:00 am prompt.

Both will take place at the School Lecture Hall, JUTH Temporary Site, Murtala Mohammed Way, Jos.

The admission list will be released by the end of August 2023, and successful candidates will be expected to resume on 6th November 2023.
