How To Calculate FULAFIA Post UTME/Aggregate Score For All Courses

Many Students find it hard to calculate their aggregate score and their cut off mark as this varies for different Institutions, but before this, we are going to tell you what aggregate and Post UTME Score means and what things are to be considered before calculating the aggregate score.

The Federal University of Lafia formerly named Federal University, Lafia is a recently established university situated in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, this was done in 2010 by the Goodluck Jonathan administration as one of the nine new federal universities established in the six geo-political zones of Nigeria.

The University commenced academic activities by September 2012 with new students that made up the first set of students to be trained by the University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ekanem Ikpi Braide. Federal University, Lafia currently has a second Vice Chancellor Prof. Muhammad Sunusi Liman, who were appointed by the present President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR (RTD) and a Deputy Vice Chancellor by name Prof. Ogbe . The appointment was done on the 13th of February 2016, after the expiration of the tenure of Prof. Ekanem Ikpi Braide.

WHAT IS AGGREGATE SCORE

That means the candidate must get at least 50 Questions Correctly. The aggregate score will be used to determine the cut-off point for admission into each of the programmes. Cut-off points for each course will be determined by the performance of all the candidates who applied for the course.

WHAT IS POST UTME SCORE

After every UTME exercise, a particular mark is set out by the exam body {e.g 120}. This mark is a score a candidate must have or cross, to qualify him or her to sit for the chosen school’s POST UTME exercise. This said mark is announced to all school’s to enable them decide the number of candidates they will admit.
After the school’s decision, they announce a particular mark which must not be lower than the mark the UTME body fixed. Any candidate who cross the mark set by the UTME body and did not reach the chosen school’s mark, is NEVER eligible to sit for the school’s POST UTME.
This mark or score set by the school admission board is known as SCHOOL’S CUT OFF MARK..

How To Calculate FULAFIA Aggregate Score

When calculating FULAFIA aggregate score, three areas are considered. they are;

  1. O’LEVEL

A1 – 6

B2- 5

B3-4

C4-3

C5-2

C6-1

And maximum is 30 points, then split to 20 through multiplication by 2/3.

2. Post UTME

The Post UTME is split to 30 marks using 0.3 as the multiplier.

3.JAMB

The candidates JAMB score will be divided into 8

For a better understanding, lets use Treasure as a case study.

Assume Treasure score 250, her score will be 250/2= 31.25

Maths B2-5, English A1-6, Biology B2-5, Physics C4-3, Chemistry A1-6, Total gross points for O’Level is = 25, the score is then multiplied by 2/3 ie 25 x 2/3= 16.7. She score 55 in her Post UTME and it is multiplied by 0.3 ie 55 x 0.3= 16.5

Therefore, Treasure’s aggregate score is the sum of the the three scores ie JAMB + O’Level + Post UTME which is 31.25 + 16.7 + 16.5= 64.45.
