About Government of Mauritius Africa Scholarships
The Mauritius Government is providing financial aid to well-deserving students from countries under the African Union umbrella or African Commonwealth Member States.
This scholarship was created in a bid to promote capacity-building across the continent.
Eligible Countries
Countries eligible for the Government of Mauritius Africa Scholarships must be African Union Member States.
Candidate must be a student of any school in Mauritius.

Duration of Scholarship
The duration of the Government of Mauritius Scholarships varies depending on the level of the degree program.
It varies as follows;
- Undergraduate Diploma Three (3) years
- Undergraduate Degree Four (4) years
- Master’s Two (2) years
- PhD Three (3) years
Value of the Government of Mauritius Africa Scholarships
The scholarship provides successful candidates with the following benefits;
- Tuition Fees
- Living allowances
- Airfare Ticket (To and Fro country of origin)
Eligibility Criteria
For candidates to be eligible for this scholarship, they must meet up with the following criteria;
- Candidate must be up to 18 years of age and not more than 26 years old at the close of applications.
- Master’s candidates must not be over 35 years at the point of application.
- Doctorate candidates must not be over 45 years at the close of applications.
- Candidate must apply for full-time admission into any higher institution in Mauritius for the 2023 academic year.
- Candidate must meet the minimum grade point for the qualifying exams stated by the Mauritius school.
- TOEFL/IELTS is optional depending.
- Candidates must not have an undergraduate degree.
- Candidates already sponsoring their education in Mauritius are not eligible for this scholarship.
